Jay lay awake in her bed as she stared blankly at the ceiling. She felt a shiver run up her spine and she shut her eyes quickly. When it subsided she sat up and sighed. Every time she shut her eyes she saw "his" face and it bothered her. The strange glow she saw around him was the same color as her own and she believed with all her heart that she was a very bad person. She rested her elbows on her bare knees as she pulled her shorts down a bit. Her slimming sports tank top gave her room to breath as the hardwood floor now held her gaze.
She sighed again and rubbed her eyes. So she was supposed to find Captain America and somehow convince him that his old friend Bucky or "The Winter Soldier" , wanted to protect her. She didn't even know why he wanted to help her. After reading all the information that had been leaked onto the internet about him, Jay wondered why the hell he wanted to even speak to her.
Instead of thinking on it any further, Jay stood and slipped on her converse with bare feet. She didn't even bother to tie the laces as she shuffled her feet out the door, grabbing a sweat jacket with Captain America's shield on the back. She ran her hands through her hair as she yawned out loud. She wanted to eat something. She was hungry and when she got hungry, she got grumpy and very angry.
She made her way into the kitchen and made her way directly to the fridge. She found cooked steak and a bottle of the wine she loved and cream soda. She made a guttural chuckle that sounded mischievously evil and she smiled to herself. When she heated up all the steak she could and grabbed the wine bottle and soda in one hand and the plate of steaks with the other. She stepped out into the hall to make her way outside, taking a steak in her mouth.
"The child of the Archangel " a deep voice said, his voice heavily accented.
Jay froze and turned on her heel. The steak dropped out of her mouth and onto the plate and swallowed asking,
"Can I help you."
The tall man stepped out to reveal a cleanly shaven man of about 30 with bright blue eyes and a sharp featured jaw. On his head was a ridiculous helmet and a cape reached the floor behind him. His outfit looked odd too, but his broad shoulders and devilishly charming smile made up for it.
"I find it amusing that the child of the Archangel mutant should be named Bluejay."
"Well I am." Jay replied, " now if you don't mind, who are you? "
"Eric" he said taking a step closer , "you know my alternative name, I'm sure."
"Magneto, I'm guessing. You're the only Eric I know." Jay could feel her pulse quicken when she felt other presences in the room.
Two more figures appeared in slacks, wearing dark hoodies that covered their eyes. Jay shifted on her untied laces and her wings began to unfurl.
"Listen," Jay began slowly, "I don't know what your plan is, but I don't want any trouble."
"I'm afraid you inherited the trouble your into, along with the price on your head." Magneto replied.
"Oh, isn't that just lovely." Jay said with a nervous chuckle as she began to take a step back.
"Not for you, I'm afraid ." Magneto ended.
Jay's wings were spread open now and they were grey, the color that revealed her utter fear. Eric saw them and grinned, obviously knowledgable of the fact that the colors meant what she felt. However, the next moment there was a large explosion and she found herself on her side on the floor. Coughing away the dust and smoke, Jay blinked and saw the large and muscular figure of James Buchanan Barnes. He looked at her with his blue eyes, his dark hair tied back in a ponytail, small strands of which hung low in his face. He reached down with his normal hand and yanked her up and said coarsely,
