"Everybody ready?" Jay asked the familiar group of faces around her.
They all nodded and she glanced beside her at Bucky who was loading his weapon with ammo.
"Are you?" Bucky mumbled.
Jay was silent a moment then said,
"Of course."
Turning around, she banged her fist against the window that gave her a clear view of the van driver. Steve turned his head and she nodded to which he replied with a nod.
"So," Johnny began, "I get to go super nova?"
"Not really, no." Jay said, "Just enough to roast that son of a bitch like a piece of chicken."
"I can do that." Johnny said with a grin, placing his hands behind his head and leaining back in his chair.
"Jay," Charles bagan, sitting forward a bit, "We have to keep this civilized."
"What's that?" Logan asked sarcastically.
"Exactly." Jay replied, with a supressed grin.
Logan chuckled and added,
"Sometimes you need to fight a beast with a beast. In this case, you need to fight complete and utter insanity with, well..." he looked at Jay and she laughed saying,
"Me."
"Alright," Charles grinned, "As long as no civilians are harmed."
"Of course." Jay said. "That's Steve's job. He's going to vacate the surrounding areas, I mean, he's the only one people will listen to anyway."
"True." Bucky added.
"And what exactely is my place in all of this?" a soft voice came from beside Bucky.
They all turned to Sigyn who looked calmer that Charles and who was wearing a suit similar to the others. Her copper gold eyes looked them all over and rested on Jay.
"Well?" she said.
"I don't know." Jay said, "You don't seem like you would want to see what we may have to do to get this scoundrel to talk."
"Believe me," Sigyn began, "I think I can stomach whatever you might do. I have been in enough battles and have seen many things. I may even persuade this man to get my niece himself." she paused and leaned back, "Do not underestimate gentle souls niece, " she looked at Jay and said, "They can be much more destructive than you can imagine when provoked."
Jay was silent, all she could think of was Crys. Crys was by far the most gentle soul that she had met besides Steve and she couldn't imagine--no--she refused to imagine what Doom could turn her into. Dove was bad enough when Jay went "black", the terror Crow could inflict could be so much more. Suddenly her thoughts were interrupted by a strange shutter that made her eyes close.
"Jay? Bucky asked, placing his hand on her shoulder.
"Did you feel that?" Jay asked out loud.
"Yes." Charles said.
"As did I." Sigyn.
"What was that?" Jay opened her eyes again and looked around at them.
"I'm not sure." Charles added with a tone of concern.
"It is similar to what is felt when one uses the Bifrost." Sigyn said. "But somehow different."
"And familiar." Jay said, "Oddly enough."
They all looked at her and she stared at the floor until they felt the van come to a stop. Steve hopped out of the driver's seat, and opened the back doors saying,
"We're here."
"Let's get this show on the road." Logan said.
They all piled out of the van quickly and quietly, glancing back at the menacing looking warehouse across the road. Jay pulled her hair back and put it up in a ponytail, looking over all of their faces. She didn't feel any fear from them, only uneasiness and doubt, something which was flooding her thoughts. However, she brushed it off and rekindled the hate that she had for Deadpool and let it fuel her. Charles may have thought that doing so was dangerous, but Jay didn't care.....not at the present moment that is.
"Everyone ready?" Steve asked.
They all nodded and he resonponded in like manner adding,
"Good luck."
Steve parted ways from the group when they crossed the street, running to the nearby homes and shops. Jay marched up to the main shed door and looked up, craining her neck to see the top. She then walked close up to it and places her hands on the cool metal.
"Um Jay?" She heard Bucky say.
Not a moment later, Jay let out a burst of energy and the metal shriveled up like tin foil and flew inward, going through the back wall. Jay looked inside to see Deadpool staring at them, his blade finishing a stroke to kill a man on the ground.
"DON"T YOU PEOPLE KNOCK ANYMORE?!" Deadpool shouted, letting the body beside him drop with a heavy thud.
"Nope." Jay said with a grin, stepping forward.
"So you brought friends." Deadpool chuckled. "Where's the party?"
"There's no party here." Charles said.
"Awww now my bean dip is gonna go to waste." Deadpool whined, "It's probably Lucky's fault here." he motioned his blade to Bucky who made a motion to step foward when Jay stopped him.
"So what are you up to today?" Jay asked in a frivilous voice, almost skipping forward.
"The usual, un-aliving people for money." Deadpool said."Mercinary work honey, you probably wouldn't be able to stomach this line of work."
"Trust me," Jay said with a chuckle, "I think I am."
"So what are you and the pack of weirdos doing here?" Deadpool asked, swirling his blade around in the air.
"Well," Jay said, " We are here to get some information out of you."
"Are you now?" Deadpool laughed, "Cuz if this is about the Chinese restaurant, I swear it was the dwarf."
There was a moment of silence before Jay turned around and asked,
"Can I just kill him now?"
"Get in line." Bucky said, swinging his weapon over his shoulder and aiming it at Deadpool.
"Don't be like that Jucky," Deadpool said, "Your girlfriend got first dibs."
Jay looked at Bucky who lowered his weapon and motioned to the maniac across from them.
"Go ahead babe." he said jokingly.
Jay flushed red at him saying that, and she had to look at Deadpool and focus on how much she hated him in order to get her mind off of it.
"I'm waiting." Deadpool complained, "Mucky here said you could go ahead. C'mon!! I need some action."
"Your funeral bub." Logan warned, crossing his arms.
