"So." Jay said out loud when they all settled in the drawing room. "Why did you need to see us?"
Sigyn turned her golden-copper eyes on Jay and then on Crys, who was looking a little worn.
"Well," the Asgardian began, "Myself and the Mage of the palace have felt a rift in the drift of time and space. Have one of you experienced your Host minds emerging recently?"
Crys lowered her head then said,
"Yeah. I have."
Everyone gave her a piteous glance before Sigyn spoke,
"You must have the mind of Crow."
"Um, yes." Crys added, "why do you say that as if it was obvious?"
"Because," the stately woman began, "Crow is more powerful that Dove. These personalities were named and known over ten thousand years ago in Asgard. Myself and my sister, your mother, are their direct descendants."
"Wait." Jay cut in, "So we have the consciousnesses of two Asgardian women from ten thousand years ago? I thought the consciousnesses were a product of so much power in one body."
"That is true." Sigyn stated calmly.
Bucky shifted on his feet and glanced at Jay a moment before regarding Sigyn once more, as Logan and Charles had not ceased in doing.
"Crow and Dove were both very powerful and had a large amount of magic. their minds were so advanced as were their powers that when they fought, they destroyed three stars. After this fight however, their corporeal bodies could not continue and so they let their minds drift through their blood line until they reached a host with a powerful enough body and mind to house their own powers."
"So I was not far off in my deductions." Charles added.
"You were actually very close considering our lack of knowledge about this whole story." Steve chimed.
Crys looked up at the Patriot and smiled sweetly. He returned the gesture and Sigyn spoke once more,
"Yes. You were not far. However, we must all concern ourselves with the fact that Crow and Dove are sworn enemies. When they emerge there is no stopping them from trying to destroy one another."
"Can we control them?" Jay asked, sounding severely concerned.
Bucky looked at her with even more concern now. He was just as anxious as her to know the answer but above all else, he wanted to know her answer. Her answer to his question. The question which could change both of their futures. The question which he already knew his answer to, but which he waited anxiously for Jay to answer.
He set his jaw as a knot formed in his stomach. Every time he saw her he wanted to tell her he loved her, kiss her and then tell her the truth. His eyes shut as the memory came to him. No. He couldn't tell her, she would hate him.
"Yes." Sigyn said, "But it very unlikely. Your mind must be stronger than their own and that, would be a feat of power that not even Odin nor Loki could ever reach."
Crys and Jay both looked at one another with sorrow. They both felt the same thing, but it crushed Crys's soul. She was labeled as the host of the "evil one" and she would rather die than hurt anyone. She would rather die a terrible death, than to hurt any of them in the slightest way.
Charles heard this thought and looked up at her with severe concern. She may not have any love for him, but he still loved her and he would not tolerate such thoughts. Just as this came to mind, he caught a sort of "whiff" of Bucky's thoughts and a tight knot formed in his gut. It was a feeling that he had never felt before and it made him shut his eyes.
Logan's rambling faded as Charles focused and narrowing down the feelings. He opened his eyes, brimmed with a shimmer of eyes and looked at Jay then at Bucky.
"You poor, poor man." Charles thought as he regarded the frowning soldier.
