Charles huffed as he read the letter he held. It was a note from Samuel, explaining he might be gone for awhile and not to be alarmed. According to the time Samuel said he left at, it had only been an hour since then. Charles looked around the house, in search of something to do while his best friend was away. He considered baking, but remembered his skills in the kitchen were probably lower than a limbo stick.
Charles walked up the stairs and stared at the wall in front of him, pictures of Samuel and Alexander littering the wall. He grabbed some masking tape, a pen, and command strips to write on the pictures. On the first one, he covered Samuel and left a casual looking Alexander with the new caption "Hey, Lee, sorry I was busy doing stuff". He grabbed a different frame and placed it next to the first one and covered Alexander, showing Samuel acting bashful with a caption of "It's okay, I'm stuff". He grabbed a third frame, which was a photo taken at a haunted house, and put Alexander looking scared under the first one with the caption "Omg, Sammy, no!". Finally, he grabbed a picture of his single self and placed it in the free spot under the second picture with the caption "Haha, Alex, you are banging my best friend". He chuckled to himself and left the frames alone, looking around the house again. He picked up a book and read for a bit before glancing at the clock. Another hour had past and he was still alone for God knows how long.
Charles tilted his head to the ceiling and started to talk as if Samuel were around.
"OH MY GOD, SAM, WHY DID YOU LET ME READ SO MUCH," he called into the oblivion of the house. He waited a few minutes, as if Samuel was going to respond.
"Dude, why the fuck are titties so... squishy? Don't get me wrong, men exist, but like.... oh my god, why are titties ... titties?" he said to himself. He didn't heard the door open. He began thinking about his best friend and decided to randomly sing a song lyric.
"I NEED YOU HERE TO STAYYYY," Charles sang before laughing at himself. It took him a minute to calm down and lean back onto the sofa.
"I missssss youuuuu, Sammy, come back before I burn the place down because I am very socially anxious and got hungry," Charles joked. Samuel laughed behind him, effectively scaring Charles into falling off and landing on the ground. Samuel laughed harder and offered to help Charles up. Charles took it and pouted at Samuel.
"How long were you going to let me talk about random shit for?" he asked, slightly embarrassed.
"I just got back, relax," Samuel said with a laugh. Charles visibly glowed and bounced on his toes.
"Oh. My. God. I SUMMONED YOU BACK TO THE HOUSE WITH MY HORRIBLE SINGING AND DESPERATE NEED FOR YOU!!" he screamed excitedly. Samuel laughed harder, watching Charles get excited like a little puppy.
"I guess you did, though your singing isn't horrible," Samuel said once he calmed down.
"I don't give a fuck, my best friend's back and oH MY GOD, HAVE YOU SEEN WHAT I DID WHEN I FIRST FIGURED OUT YOU WERE GONE?!" Charles asked. He didn't give Samuel the chance to respond as he dragged him up the stairs and to the picture wall. Samuel muttered the words as he read them, then looked at Charles with a frightened looked.
"ALEX AND I DON'T BANG EACH OTHER- OH MY GOD-" he said, trying to get the tape off. Charles began to laugh and help place the photos where they belonged.
"I'm never leaving you home alone again, sweet Lord, you couldn't handle half an hour of being alone," Samuel said when they finished. He messed with Charles' hair, which was met with Charles trying to bite his hand.
"I bite, bitch," Charles said.
"I bite back," Samuel pretended to bite back and fell into more laughter with Charles.
