"Uhm, Dr. Lee, can I ask you something?" Laurens asked, swinging his legs aound.

"It's 2 AM, Laurens, what is it?" Lee said tiredly through Sarah. Laurens finally learned Sarah was a robot and not a human.

"Can I have someone I know to talk to? Like, Burr or Fleury or even Alex?"

"I'm not allowed to touch Hamilton, Fleury is French, and... I don't know about Burr. If you want to talk to someone else, I can put my husband on," Lee said.

"... Fine, but because I can't sleep," Laurens said. There were scratching sounds Laurens had learned to associate with moving.

"Hello? Who is this?" a new voice said. Laurens flopped down and looked at the ceiling.

"Uh- Hi? I'm John Laurens- Is this Dr. Lee's... er... husband?" Laurens said, the word tasting almost of poison on his tongue. It didn't feel like he should be saying it, like it was a curse, or something illegal, despite Lee constantly reminding him it was alright.

"Yes, wait, does Project S.A.R.A.H. work? Did Char really bring you to life? I have so many questions!" Lee's husband said excitedly. He was talking so fast, Laurens got confused.

"Project what now? And I suppose so, I'm walking around and such-" Laurens said.

"Sarah, is she working fine? I thought there could be a flaw or two, but Char says she's fine," Lee's husband said.

"Oh! Yeah, nothing seems to be bad, but I don't know how any of this should work," Laurens said.

"WAIT! Where are my manners, my name's Samuel, Samuel Seabury-Lee," Lee's husband, Samuel, said.

"Samuel... Seabury?" Laurens repeated. The name sounded familiar, so he racked his brain for answers.

"...Seabury-Lee, it's hyphenated," Samuel said quietly.

"Wait, are you related to the Samuel Seabury that debated and lost to Alex?" Laurens asked. A laugh sounded through the phone.

"Guilty as charged, but I'm not such an opinionated person as he was," Samuel said.

"Don't lie to him, just earlier we argued about dinner because you didn't want anything I offered you," Lee's voice said, much quieter than normal.

"You two really sound like a happy married couple," Laurens commented.

"That's great, I can't imagine a life without Char," Samuel said, pure love in his voice. Lee made some sound of agreement, though it could've been considered inhuman because of how deep and exhaled it sounded.

"Uh- are you guys busy? Dr. Lee had complained about the time or something earlier," Laurens said.

"He's just being tired and cranky," Samuel said with a small laugh.

"I'm not cranky, it's too late for me to be awake and functioning," Lee complained.

"Then go to bed, love," Samuel said, making the input more muffled. Lee made some sort of argument that made Samuel laugh a bit.

"Sorry Mr. Laurens, I have to get a cranky baby to bed," Samuel said, unmuffling the input.

"I'm not cranky nor a baby, I'm a highly trained scientist with a doctorate," Lee said.

"A highly trained scientist with a doctorate who needs some sleep," Samuel said, shutting his end of Sarah off. Laurens was left in silence, staring at the ceiling, wishing he had someone to talk to.

"Hey Sarah? Can you play music?" Laurens asked, staring at her box on the wall.

"What kind of music do you wish? Options are, Modern, Classical, Rock, Hip-hop, Reggae, R&B, Pop, or Alternative," Sarah said, still as monotonic as ever. Laurens had no idea what any of the options meant, he just expected to be thrown into some Bach piece, trying to differentiate between the cello and the bass, or the violins from the violas.
