samuel has a malewife vibe , yknow ? and peggy is obviously a girlboss

"Hey? Honey? My sister is here!" Peggy called as she walked into the apartment she rented with her boyfriend. Samuel popped out of the kitchen, holding a mixing bowl and a whisk.

"Is she staying for dinner, I can make plenty more if she is," Samuel said.

"If it wouldn't be too much trouble," Eliza said quietly.

"For you guys? It could never," Samuel said, slipping back into the kitchen. Peggy chased him in while laughing a bit.

"Hang on, hang on, you still need to give me my attention," Peggy said, still giggling. Samuel joined her laughter and put down his stuff. He pulled his girlfriend in for a soft, chaste kiss and gave her a tight hug. Peggy calmed down her giggles, but not entirely when Samuel swept her off her feet to toss her onto their sofa.

"Now, if you don't mind, I'll be cooking as you both rest and relax," he said, making a beeline back to the kitchen. Peggy sat herself up, patting the seat next to her for Eliza to sit down.

"How'd you find someone like him?" she asked quietly, hearing Samuel loudly singing and laughing in the kitchen.

"Sometimes I feel like soulmates are real and I've found mine," Peggy said with a small smile. Eliza smiled at her younger sister.

"I'm sure you did," Eliza said. Samuel popped back out of the kitchen and looked right at Eliza.

"Hey, Eliza, do you prefer red or white wine?" he asked, holding up two bottles.

"Uh...Red, I guess," Eliza said, looking briefly at the bottles.

"...Thank goodness, I think the white wine is vinegar," Samuel muttered, going back to the kitchen again. He took a few more minutes before walking out of the kitchen, holding a pair of plates. He set them down before going back to get everything else. He set the table and called the girls over. Peggy stood on her toes, giving Samuel a quick kiss and leaving him in a blush.

"My goodness, Samuel, this is really good," Eliza said after a few moments.

"Ah, it's not the best," Samuel said.

"Objection, you are literally the best cook I've ever met and dated," Peggy said, slamming her fork into the table.

"Honey, you've told me I'm the only boyfriend you've had that bothered to cook every night for you," Samuel said with a small smile.

"Which makes you the best! A working woman-"

"-always needs a nice husband to cook her every meal. I know, sweetheart," Samuel said, smiling more.

"Did you two switch the gender roles of the 1950s?" Eliza jokingly asked. Samuel went into thought, moving his hand in the air, a bit confused.

"Yes, we did, out of our love and needs," Peggy said. Samuel shrugged, not going to figure it out.

"Before we finish, do either of you want some banana pudding I made earlier before I give it to the neighbor's kids?" Samuel asked.

"I'll be fine," Eliza said.

"Wait, you made something sweet and didn't tell me immediately?" Peggy said, pouting.

"There's no chocolate this time, I promise," Samuel said.

"I still want some," Peggy said, pouting more. Samuel laughed and collected the plates. He pressed a kiss to the top of Peggy's head and walked towards the kitchen. When he came back, he had a large and small bowl.

"Yessss, my boyfriend's cooking is the best, especially sweet foods," Peggy said, taking a bite of the pudding. Eliza laughed at the couple softly.

"I should probably get going before Alexander starts worrying," Eliza said. She gave her goodbyes and left.

"Now that my sister's gone, you can just let me have the rest of the pudding," Peggy said, reaching for the larger bowl.

"Aht, aht, I was serious about giving some to the kids," Samuel said. Peggy pouted again and finished her share of the pudding. Samuel kissed her softly and left.
