The vampires that stayed to fight moved to the main area of the coven with guns and weapons in tow. As they got into position and aimed their guns at the entrance, the entire ceiling of the cavern began to shake, and that worried me. That either meant there were thousands of enemies coming towards us or it meant something even more dangerous is coming. I stopped walking and stood still until David was far enough to not sense me. I ran towards the entrance and then I climbed to high ground to take a better position while a couple of the men began to step forward. I was gonna fight on the front lines and David and Selene couldn't stop me. I would not allow Amelia's lover and son to die. I may feel something strong for David but I will always remain loyal to my mentor, even in death. I closed my eyes and took a shaking breath, trying to center myself as Amelia taught me. 'Amelia, please lend me your strength.' I thought to myself before opening my eyes and aiming my gun at the door.

We only had to wait a few seconds before all hell broke loose. Instead of humans busting through it was "LYCANS". Two took out the men closest to the entrance first. Thomas was right. They are not ready but they have spirit. It will not be in vain. I shot down any and every lycan that came near me but the rest were not doing as well. In fact, we were being slaughtered. I kept shooting until I ran out of bullets in my AK-74, I quickly switched over to my 9mm. David underestimated the number of lycans there were and how desperate they were to survive. As I fought I couldn't help but feel sorrow at the men and women we were losing in this battle. As I was fighting, I saw a silver whip fly through the air and wrap itself around a lycan in a fluid motion before watching David fly towards it, wrapping the rest of the whip around its neck, snapping it before taking the whip to attack another lycan. I was proud of his fighting but when he took his eyes off of the lycan he was fighting to kill a different one, it took advantage of his distraction and attacked him. "DAVID" I yelled. I shot the one heading my way and ran to him. Shooting the lycan off of him. I finally got it off of him but he was injured a bit.

"Thank you, Iris." He told me and I just sighed.

"Never take your eye off your prey," I tell him before giving him a hand to help him stand. Once he was up, he smiled at me and went back into the fight. Why did he have to be so stubborn?

I stayed in the main entrance killing off the remaining Lycan that roamed there. Once I was finished killing them, I finally saw that I was the last one standing. I felt a tear escape my eye when suddenly the ceiling began to shake. Something big was coming. I ran to the fallen soldiers and began to take their munitions for my 9mm and an AK-74. As I was doing so I saw a sword on the ground. I grabbed it and strapped it to my waist next to where Amelia's sword hung, before aiming my 74 at the corridor where I heard movement. When I turned towards it, I only saw Selene but there was no sign of Eve. Before I could question her we both aimed at a hanging sheet on the wall with a lycan behind it. But something wasn't right. It seemed to be larger than the others, more dangerous. In all my centuries, I have never seen one that size. Selene and I both began to shoot at it. We both emptied our guns doing so but it was still alive. Either these are no pure silver bullets or that lycan was enhanced. I think I am willing to go for the second option. I threw away my 74 and pulled out my 9mm while Selene went for a sword embedded in a Lycan's chest. When she ran for it, the lycan ran for us. It was 10x bigger than any we have ever fought before this. When it busted through, I shot at it only to be backhanded into a wall. I was stunned for a moment, but that was all it needed to get to Selene before he backhanded her and went for the killing blow only for her to roll out of the way. I began shooting at its back but that seemed to only piss it off. While it was distracted by me, Selene grabbed the blade and held it in a defensive position as the lycan went to strike her. When it brought down its hand, the blade cut off one or two of its fingers. At the sight of this, the lycan rose to its full height and chased after her. I threw away my 9mm and pulled out the sword*. I prayed that it was one of Thomas's best ones or Selene and I might not see the next evening. Selene ran up a column and flipped over the lycan, stabbing it in the back, midair, leaving behind the larger portion of the blade. Selene and I watched it in anticipation for it to fall like many before it. No, instead of falling from the blade it absorbed it and healed. Shit. I ran to Selene only for the lycan to turn and strike us into a pillar, breaking it from the force of our bodies hitting it. We fell into a lower cavern and I blacked out from the pain.

~Hello my little rabbits and mad hatters. It has been about a year since I have updated this story and I am so sorry. Over the last year, I have been through a lot and have slowly been getting better. I hope you enjoyed this chapter as best as you could. I am a little rusty from not writing this story. Still say that Awakening did not live up to the Underworld franchise. It had a lot of potentials but it fell flat. I have missed you and this story though. I love you guys
