I looked at Thomas in anger. I knew of his affair with milady Amelia. I knew that their relationship would have been frowned on if it ever came to light and yet he stood there judging my sister and my niece. I yanked my arm away from him. He glared at me and told Olivia to look at the girl's eyes. I look down to see her irises bright blue and the sclera have become black. In my opinion, they were breathtaking and made me a bit jealous but to Thomas, they were a reminder that this girl wasn't a pure vampire.
"I never believed it," Oliva said in awe while I glared at Thomas. "They do exist."
Thomas looked at David. "This is not one of us." My eyes started to show my rage.
But I felt a hand wrap itself around my waist calming me. "No, it's something more, father."
Thomas didn't look convinced and looked down at me then looked at Selene. "What do you know of her?"
Selene spun around before speaking. "I was held captive at a place called Antigen. One of the other prisoners freed me and Iris." I felt David's arm tighten around me and I won't lie. I loved the feeling. His presence made me feel safe and cared for. I guess this is what Selene and Michael felt. I couldn't blame her for hunting for him. "I believed it was Michael Corvin, the only hybrid I knew existed at the time."
Thomas interrupted her by saying "Yes, yes your lycan lover, long dead. What is this, then?"
"Keep it up Sir Thomas and you will be the next to be long dead." I said with no humor in my voice, "Now be a gentleman and do shut up and do not treat this child like an inanimate object. She's a young girl." I glared at him before looking at Selene. "You can continue now "
"He is none of her concern, as soon as she regains her strength, we are leaving with her." I was shocked at this statement but I understood and nodded. She gave me a small nod and walked away.
I felt David bring me closer to him. "Please, go rest and take her with you to my room. I'll speak to your sister." I nodded before he tightened his hold. "After I speak to her, we need to talk about some things."
"Ok but after she rests. Also, don't put too much pressure on her." I told him before he gestured to one of the coven members to take us to his room. I followed the member to a cavern that was filled with candles and one couch where the member laid the girl down. "Thank you" they just nodded at me before leaving. I sat on the floor next to the sleeping girl. I began to pet her hair softly. "You know, you remind me of your mum when we were children. She was so full of love and happiness, she adored our father. But you said many things with Michael. You have his heart. You are naive about this world like he was when he met your mum and me. But he grew to care for it because of your mum. Don't worry. We'll find him and you'll get to know both of them." I whispered to her sleeping body as I continued to run my fingers through her hair. I know Selene cares for this little girl. I hope she will see it too.
-Hello my little rabbits and mad hatters. I am so sorry I haven't updated in a while and even more sorry about the fact that this chapter is so short. I hope to make the next chapter longer. As you can see, there are a few spoilers for the next movie in this chapter but this whole thing is a spoiler so. I hope you are liking the chemistry between Iris and David and the tension between her and Thomas. You got to admit, in this movie he was an ass towards Selene and Eve. I know Iris is more of a mother than an aunt in this but you have to remember that unlike Selene, Iris never allowed being a death dealer to harden her heart. I hope you are still enjoying the book and that you will stick around for the next chapter.
