Chapter 5

It was about a half-hour later when Selene told me she was going to try and find some answers in the forbidden library. Looking into the past was strictly forbidden, so the fact that she is even considering it meant she was quite determined and fully ready to accept the consequences of breaking this taboo. I decided to something quite similar, I follower her into the library and went to the other end looking for the vampire "family" tree. Legends say that Viktor is the oldest vampire but I have my doubts. He is quite defensive on the subject and he says that Marcus is a descendant of Alexander Corvinus but that doesn't make sense because Alexander is the father of both vampires and Lycans. I have never told Selene this because she is so loyal to him. I, however, have doubts about the man because he keeps so many secrets. In my opinion, having such secrets means that they are hiding something quite dark. I started to search the shelves for the book about the Corvinus clan. "Where is it?" I asked myself as I continued to look for the book only to find the space where the book was supposed to be to be empty. "The book is gone!" I could feel my eyes slowly change into a vibrant blue reacting to my anger and frustration. "Where could it be, damn it?!" Then it dawned on me. " The Historian! But Viktor exiled him nearly 3 centuries ago."

I walked back to the front of the library where I found Selene. "Iris, I believe I found something about Kraven." This caused me to become curious about this information.

"This ought to be good. I've been wanting to knock that bastard down a few pegs." I told her with a smirk on my face.

"Apparently Kraven was the only surviving vampire during the fall of Lucian. He proved that he slew Lucian by showing the council the branded skin from his arm but the picture of Lucian was burned so no one could make out his face but the necklace in the drawing is the same one that we saw fighting him," she stated as she showed me the skin.

"But why would Kraven allow him to live? It would be more impressive to bring back Lucian's head what just his brand." I started to think and then it started to connect. The special bullets, the sudden change in the guarding teams, the fact that Kraven is suddenly convinced that he will be the rightful heir to the coven. "THAT BASTARD! He's going to betray the coven and the elders. He's working with Lucian because he knows that he can use him as a patsy."

We quickly left the library to go and find Michael. As we were walking out and down the hallway, Erica came towards us. "I've been looking for you two." We ignored her but stopped when she said these three words "He's been bitten"
