Chapter 6

**Time Skip**

After Erica told us about Michael, Selene and I ran down the hallway. As we were running down the hall I saw a spark flash in Selene's eyes. I knew then and there that she had an idea that would most likely get us in trouble.

"Selene, I know that look. What are you thinking?" I asked her as we slowed to a stop.

"We need to wake Vikor up. If Kraven is indeed going to betray the Coven and the Elders, that means he is most likely going to have them killed including Viktor."She told me in a voice that left no room for objection.

So I just nodded before saying. "Ok. You go get the message ready and wake Viktor up, I'll get our gear." She agreed with me and left to get her thoughts in order while I ran to the armory and grabbed us, our guns, and ammunition. I got to the elders' chambers just before Selene came out of the main area. When I got there I saw that Kraven was looking at the security monitor that was stationed just outside of the manor. When my and Selene's presence was noticed I watched Kraven's face quickly morphed into one filled with anger and jealousy. Suddenly we heard a familiar voice. Michael's!

"SELENE!" his voice yelled through the intercom. Selene quickly walked to the screen to see him in the pouring rain calling for her.

Kraven was quite angry looking. "Is it Michael?"

"I want to talk to Selene and Iris!" Michael's voice ranged through the intercom once more. Kraven's face just got a lot angrier as he repeated his question.

"What the hell is going on?" Michael yelled with fear laced into his voice. "What's happening to me?"

Selene looked at me before pressing the talk button for the intercom. "We're coming out"

We started to walk out of the room when Kraven turned towards us and said " If you two go to him, you will never be welcomed back into this house."

This obviously didn't sit well with either of us. So Selene decided to tell him something we both knew would shock him. "Now that Viktor's awake, we'll see what he has to say about that." I loved how the blood seemed to just drain from his face the moment she finished that sentence.

We quickly got into a car and drove out the gate to meet with Michael. When we got to him, he opened the passenger side door and Selene told him to get in. As Selene was driving I decided it was time to warn him.

"Never come here again. They'll kill you" I gave him a towel to dry himself off as much as he could.

"Why? Who are you, people?" He asked looking back and forth between Selene and me. I looked towards Selene because I could tell that in the short time we have known Michael that she has formed a certain bond with him.

She stayed quiet and her face became hesitant before she pulled his shirt way from his collarbone, to see that Erica was indeed telling us the truth. He was bitten by a Lycan. By Lucian. Her face changed in an instant. It was a shocking and appalling look. She sighed before she started to speak. " Like it or not, you're in the middle of a war that has raged for a thousand years. A blood feud between Vampires and Lycans."

When I saw that his face held confusion I decided to speak up and say "Werewolves"

We continued to drive into the city when Selene started to speak once more. "Consider yourself lucky. Most humans die within an hour of being bitten by an immortal."

Michael looked at her with some rage showing in his face.

"Selene I hate to tell you but I don't think he considers that lucky," I said with humor laced into my voice. "Even if he is very lucky that he survived such a bite." I continued in a serious tone. "The viruses we transmit are deadly"

"And if either of you bit me, what? I'd become a vampire, instead ?" Michael asked us.

Selene decided not to beat around the proverbial bush and looked him dead in the eyes before saying. "No, you'd die."

I decided to speak up. "No one's ever survived a bite from both species."

"By rights, I'd stop this car and one of us would kill you oursel--," Selene said looking conflicted while tightening her grip in the steering wheel.

Michael interrupted her by asking " WHY ARE YOU TWO HELPING ME?"

"WE'RE NOT! WE TRACK DOWN AND KILL YOUR KIND" Selene stated angrily before calming down a bit and saying " Our only interest is finding out why Lucian wants you so badly"

With that, the three of us quieted down and Selene kept driving to the interrogation/ safe house that we had in an abandoned building in the city. When we got there I grabbed my laptop and guns before exiting the car.

When we entered the building, Michael started to talk about the visions he was having ever since the bite. I decided to let Selene help him understand that they weren't visions or hallucinations as he called but that they were memories of Lucian.

When we got to the interrogation room, I walked over to the desk and started to work on my laptop to see if there was any information on why Lucian would even want to hunt Micahel for anything but prey. While I was doing that Selene was opening the blinds and grabbing a couple of blood bags. She handed me one because she knew I have drunk any in a while before throwing one to Michael because he needs to feed. He caught the bag and read the label on the bottom. "Ziodex Industries"

"We own it," I commented while sucking the blood through one of the tubes like it was a straw. "First there was synthetic plasma and now this"

"Once it's approved, it should be our newest cash crop" Selene commented while checking the camera placed all around the building.

"It's cloned blood," Michael stated dumbly. He started to look around the room and his eyes landed on spent bloody bullets in a pan next to many surgical tools that we used to extract the bullets from the Lycans we imprisoned. He asked what they were used for and Selene told quite bluntly that if we didn't take the bullets out quickly that the Lycans would die during interrogation. "What do you do with them, after?"

"We put the bullets back in" Selene stated bluntly.
