Part 3: Chapter 9

David and Thomas were still glaring at each other before I began to pull David away from his father before he did something he would regret. I know that they had very different views of the world and on how the coven should be run but I know they love each other very much. "David, calm down. He is still your father." I tell him making him look at me. "He may seem like a coward to you but he is doing what any father would do."

"How can you stand there and take his criticism?" David's eyes began to glow blue from his rage.

I look at him shocked before taking in a deep breath. "Because I understand why he is on edge. The lycans may be next to nothing but they are still resilient and the humans follow the 'shoot first, ask questions never' way of thinking. They always have." I state as my eyes glowed my light blue color. "Never in Vampire nor lycan history has the humans been able to rise up against us or much less know of us. The only humans who knew about us immortals were the men that followed Alexander Corvinus." I tell him "Your father is just trying to make sure you and the coven live to see the next century. No, I don't like how he treats me, my sister nor my niece but I don't have much say in how he is."

David sighs and nods. "I understand." I caressed his cheek softly which caused him to look into my eyes. "What are you doing to me?" He questioned.

"You tell me." I smiled at him. "I've honestly never felt like this. No man. Human or Vampire, has made me feel like this over the centuries." I decided to draw up some courage and kiss him on the lips slowly. He didn't hesitate to return the favor. As our lips moved and molded together as though it was two pieces of a puzzle, I couldn't help but worry that this is a dream. That the man who was kissing me, making me feel safe and warm inside was nothing but a beautifully cruel dream.

He pulled away for a moment with a small smile. "I enjoyed that. May I have another?" he questioned. I smiled at the man and nodded. He wasted no time to press his lips back onto mine. This wasn't a dream. This was so incredibly real. He backed me up gently to a stone pillar as he kissed me. Just as it was about to become more intense, the cavern began to shake. We pulled away and looked up. "We're being attacked." He said breathlessly before looking at me. "We'll have to continue this later." I nodded before we began to walk/ run to the main area. As we traveled there, David rips off his overcoat and throws it aside, showing off his leather should-holsters and his long-sleeved shirt. 'Ok Iris, save the coven and your niece then fantasize about him later.' I thought to myself.

When we got to the main area, Sir Thomas was telling everyone to go hide. David stood in front of the entrance and spoke out. " NO! Prepare the armory"

Thomas wasn't having it. "Do as I say. Go, go!" He lifted his hand and pointed at David with his eyes glowing "Pay heed to me!"

"No!" David argues grabbing my hand. "We stand and we fight" I run to where the vampires were lowering their armory, I grab two pistols and attach them to my legs, I place my dagger in my boot and draw my sword.

I turn to see Selene loading up as well. I walk to her "Where's the girl?"

"Safe." We both walk down the cavern's paths and grabbed some more ammo when we heard Thomas coming down the path, pushing the coven members out of the way.

"No! Have you no sense?!" He yelled at the men as he continues to push the members"Stop this now!" He demanded them. Selene and I scoffed at his idiocy. Surely he knows that this was going to happen rather he wanted it to or not. "We have lived safely for years and now you both have brought humans into this coven" I scoffed at how he intended to blame this solely on us and how he could say they have been safe all these years when they have in fact have been living like rats in the sewers. "They want the girl" My head jerked up at him. "And they will stop at nothing to get her." I knew what he was thinking and if he put action to that plan, I will personally castrate him.

"This day was bound to come, with or without us," Selene said loading her pistol.

Before Thomas could speak, David's voice broke through. " Let's move! Munitions, let's go. Everyone" he walked into the tunnel, looking both ways, and sees me. He gestured for me to come to him and follow him. I gave him a sad smile before shaking my head no to show I couldn't go stand next to him.

Thomas looked between us before yelling "Are you mad?!" He yelled at David "We have no more than a handful of fighters. We will be annihilated!"

David wasn't standing down at this information. "And what is your plan father?" he questioned but didn't give Thomas a chance to argue before yelling. "Let's go, Now"

Selene and I walked away from the group. "Selene what are we going to do bout the girl? She isn't safe here." I asked

I didn't realize that David was following us until he asked. "Where are you two going?"

"To get her away from here," Selene answered. I nodded at the statement. "You're father's right I shouldn't have come here."

"Wait, just you? What about me?" I asked confused considering we came here together

"No Iris. Just me and my daughter. You haven't done anything to catch their attention." Selene told me

"Except help kill Viktor and killed William while being the only other thing Marcus cared for." I scoffed. "You're my sister Selene. You need me."

"I do not need you." She looked at David. "He does"

"My father doesn't understand, what you"

"No. She stays, I go. The humans will follow us out." She kept speed walking until she slowed down and turned to look at us."You just need to hold them off until then. They're only here for her."

David looked at us confused. "She's more powerful than any of us and they fear the day she discovers it," I told him

"I have to get her out of here," Selene told us before walking away.

As David and I watched her leave, I couldn't help but feel sick to my stomach. David looked at me before giving me one last kiss before pulling away. "Stay with me. My father and I may not agree on what needs to be done but I cannot do this alone." I gave him a small smile and nodded. We both go the opposite way Selene went and got ready for the fight of our lives.

~Hello my little rabbits and mad hatters. Finally some love moments between Iris and David. I hope you were as happy as I was when I finally was able to put some kissing in the chapter. YAY! I hope you enjoyed the chapter. Would you believe me if I told you that we are only halfway done with this part of the story? Yeah, the movie may have sucked but it was long enough for me to write more than 9 chapters for it. I hope you guys will stick it out till the end. I love you guys
