Stiles was sure there was nowhere he would rather be than in Derek's arms. He gripped tighter as if he was afraid letting go meant losing him forever. Derek chuckled as Stiles buried his face in his chest.

"I know you're awake," Derek mumbled. Stiles groaned in return, further burying himself in Derek's embrace. "I should probably go before your dad comes to check on you." Stiles knew he was right but anything that separated them even for a moment felt completely wrong.

"Can't you just hide in the closet or something? I don't want to be alone today." He frowned. Derek sighed, cupping Stiles' cheek.

"I have some things I need to take care of. But I'll make sure you're not alone today." He promised, placing a sweet kiss on Stiles' forehead. Derek stood up, separating himself from Stiles. Stiles felt a wave of pain and realized Derek had been taking his pain while they slept.

"Der-"

"I'll come back tonight." He promised, not giving Stiles a chance to say anything that might convince him to stay.

True to her word, Melissa stopped by to check up on him and told him everything was healing nicely. She changed his bandages and brought him something to eat, knowing his dad had to go into the station.

"Derek seemed awfully worried about you." She commented as she sat with him.

"Probably an alpha thing." Stiles shrugged, thankful that Melissa did not have a built in lie detector. Much to his dismay, she did not seem convinced by his excuse.

"It's nice that you all have someone who cares so much for you. I know your father and I were both a little hesitant about you boys spending all your time with him but I'm glad he's looking out for you." Stiles stared at her, trying to figure out if she knew the truth. "He's a good man. You're lucky to have him." Stiles clenched his jaw to prevent it from hitting the floor as Melissa winked at him.

"Thanks." Stiles mumbled, blushing as Melissa kissed his forehead.

"Get some rest, Stiles."  He wasn't sure how he was supposed to sleep as his mind raced. He thought about Derek and how Melissa knew. He thought about what he would do if she told Scott or his dad. He trusted her but she might slip up or assume they already knew. In his rising panic, he dialed Lydia's number knowing the banshee would be able to talk him down from the ledge.

By the time Stiles had called Lydia, she was already on her way out of town with Scott and Allison. After a brilliant realization the night before, the three of them decided to take a trip down to the Argent's safe house to check for any possible signs of Allison's estranged aunt. Scott who was stuck in the backseat of Lydia's car could smell the anxiety radiating off his girlfriend as they drove to an impending reunion with her not-so-dead Aunt Kate. Lydia could not believe that none of them had seen Kate's name on the list. Between Jordan and Malia and all the pack members, she could understand how they were distracted but she was clearly off her game.

Allison's hands were almost shaking as they pulled into the driveway of the safe house. The last time she had seen her aunt was in hallucinations. The house looked dark and the lack of noise and movement made Lydia doubt there was anyone inside. After Scott did a quick sweep of the perimeter, Allison unlocked the door.

Looking around, it seemed as though there was no one home however the place had clearly been lived in.

"Do you think it's her or just some squatters?" Scott asked examining some of the garbage that had been left on the table.

"No idea." A loud thump put them all on edge. Allison loaded her bow while Scott shifted, allowing his claws to emerge.

"Lydia, get behind me," Scott instructed. She begrudgingly moved so he could easily protect her, scanning the room for anything she could use as a weapon.
