Chapter 27

"HOW are you coping with the lost?" tanong sa kanya ni Dr. San Sebastian.

Nakailang beses sa pagkurap ang mga mata niya bago tuluyang tumimo sa isip niya ang tanong nito. Napatitig siya sa kabuuan ng mukha ng doktor. He was staring back at her with his magnificent look.

"I'm fine. We're doing okay, moving on. Her son, Anton, is still mourning," mabilis na tugon niya nang makahuma.

Iyon ang unang session nila ng doktor pagkatapos nilang malaman ang pagkamatay ni Natalia. Hindi siya nakarating sa scheduled session niya noong nakaraang dalawang linggo dahil halos naging abala ang lahat at nagluluksa sa pagpanaw ng madrasta.

"My condolences, Agatha," anito sa nalulungkot na tinig.

"Maraming salamat, doc."

"Have you experienced any episode lately?" sunod na tanong nito sa kanya.

"No, doc. The medicines help a lot."

"Good to hear that. Anything that you would like to share?"

"Nothing. I believe, I'm getting better. My anxiety has reduced. I feel less fear. I stopped overthinking and I don't worry too much now."

"Great. Can we talk about Samantha?"

"Yeah, that's fine."

"How much do you know her?"

"I don't know. I never had a conversation with that particular part of my self. My family doesn't know much about her, too. But she's just me, just more aggressive and... strong and independent... I think."

"So, you're saying you're weak?"

"Sometimes. Whenever I feel I'm out of control, I feel weaker. I feel that I need to rely to someone else. Like my family or... Javier."

"Who is Javier?"

"Uhmm... My boyfriend."

Bahagyang nag-paused ang doctor bago muling nagsalita. "O-okay," anito at lumunok na tila may bikig sa lalamunan. "Does he know about Samantha?"

"Yes. Siya katunayan ang nagkukuwento sa akin ng mga tungkol kay Samantha."

"All right. Did he mention how he feel about her?"

"Yes. He's concerned. He wanted me to get help."

"Get help to...?"

"Gusto lang niyang magpatingin ako sa doktor para matulungan ang sarili ko. But if you're asking if he mentioned about getting rid of her, no he didn't say that."

"So, he's okay with your other persona? Did he say anything particular about Samantha? If he likes her or dislikes her?"

"Nope. We haven't talked about that, yet. We are pre-occupied with different things. He has case to face... and he didn't want me to get involved so, he sent me back to my family..." Nalungkot siya pagkatapos sabihin iyon. Nauunawaan niya ang desisyon ni Javier. Ilang beses na niyang sinabi iyon sa sarili pero nalulumbay pa rin siya sa tuwina kapag sumasagi sa isip niyang kailangan nilang harapin ang mga bagay-bagay ng magkahiwalay.

"Do you feel bad about it?"

"A little." Maikling tugon niya.

"That's a normal feeling, it's fine. Do you mind if we talk about this case you mentioned? Is this a criminal case?"

Napatitig siya sa mga mata nito. Nagdadalawang-isip siya kung ibabahagi rito ang bagay na iyon. Noong huli silang nag-usap ng doktor ay sadya niyang nilaktawan ang kuwento na iyon na may kinalaman kay Señor La Jarde. Hindi siya sigurado kung maaari niyang ikuwento iyon dito. Isa pa ay ayaw niyang baka magamit pa iyon laban sa kaso ni Javier.
