I honestly hate those guys. Last night could have been a great opportunity for Camille and me to connect more, but my friends decided to ruin the plan. The silver lining is that she got to meet them. Both parties seem to like each other, so that gives me less to worry about.
Our night together was eventful. Taylor went on a winning streak against everyone in 2K. It's a safe bet to say that he is the best gamer in the group. Leo and Kyle were ranting about their problems getting girls. They even asked me how I managed to get Camille. Hell, I don't even know. It just happened out of the blue. The sad thing is that we're not even together. I can see the signals clear as the clouds in the sky, but I can't take action. If she rejects me, my soul will shatter in two. I doubt I'll be able to bounce back from that.
Moving past that, Spencer was the most chill out of the group. He kept to himself most of the night and only made snide remarks here and there. He is probably the quietest person in our group besides me. Although he's quiet, he can be very disrespectful. The title of most disrespectful goes to Leonardo. On any given day, he can make a person want to transfer to a different school. He's up there in popularity with Taylor, minus the girls chasing. That's why I think he low-key dislikes Tay. Taylor beats him only in that aspect. Both are good-looking in their own way. Everyone in the group is at least six foot, but only three are athletic. Those three are Taylor, Leonardo, and Spencer. I can be athletic, but I do not have the motivation.
Aside from athletics, Taylor and Leo are opposites yet the same person. Taylor has warm, friendly hazel eyes that invite you to talk to him. Whereas Leo has cold, sharp grey eyes that you avoid. Nevertheless, they both attract people. Taylor is your typical light-skinned individual. He is the entire package. Teeth brighter than my future, pink lips, and all the face gestures to go with it. He is basically the high school version of Kelly Oubre Jr. No wonder all the girls go for him. And he's funny, arguably the funniest in the group.
Leonardo is a bit different. He's lighter than Taylor like he's borderline white. However, he tells us that he's not. What Leo has over Tay is hair. Taylor got that light-skin curly hair, while Leo has wavy hair. In short, Leo has more hairstyles he can use than Tay. And trust me, he uses it to his advantage.
I'm sure those two will be fine. If Leo can tone down his personality a little bit, he would be golden. I read enough fanfiction to know.
After sitting on the side of my bed contemplating my life existence for three minutes, I head to my bathroom to get ready for the day. Twenty minutes later, I head downstairs. Walking down the steps, my nose gets a whiff of eggs and bacon. A yawn escapes my lips as I walk into the kitchen. The guys are sitting at the dinner table, each with a plate of food. Kyle and Spencer are drinking orange juice, Leo apple juice, and Taylor has tea. I swear sixty-four percent of our drinks for a month go to them. I spot a plate of food with my name attached to it on the counter. I can only assume mother made us breakfast before she went to work.
There were eating peacefully, so I decided to join them at the table. "Good morning, gents."
Taylor looks up from his phone and looks at me. He was probably texting his girl. "Good morning, my dude. You sure got up late." He's right. I normally would be the first one up, but yesterday had its toll on me. Between the Mitchell situation, spending the day with Camille, and dealing with these idiots all night, I was drained. The moment my head hit the pillow, I was a goner.
"I'm not going to lie. I was exhausted."
"Clearly, Mr. Obvious," this was Leo interjecting. "With the day you had, I wouldn't be surprised if you slept till noon."
"That's a great idea. But, I can't give up this breakfast." After I said that, Kyle took a bite of the French toast on his plate. I can tell from his facial expressions it tastes delicious.
"I don't think you realize how much I love your mother Zo," Kyle begins his speech. I know for a fact that I might just hit him in the next few minutes." She's sweet and she can cook. If only I was born two decades ago-"
I cut him off before it gets too explicit for my liking.
"Can you shut up?" I sneered.
He only smirks at my question. "No, I don't think I will."
"Well if you don't, my fist will meet your face."
" That would be an unpleasant experience. It'll ruin my breakfast."
"Yeah, and other things."
"Woah, take me out to dinner first." After that remark, Spencer slaps the back of Kyle's head with the back of his hand. The sound of knuckles connecting with the temple filled the room. Instinctively, Kyle rests his hand on his head. "What was that for?"
"We're trying to eat, stop being so weird," Spencer orders. He goes back to scrolling on his phone and finishing off his breakfast. Kyle had no choice but to accept his fate, and we finish breakfast in silence.
For the next three hours, the house was quiet. Spencer is the one who takes school the most seriously out of the bunch, so he was working on his laptop. Taylor was on a call with Valerie, his girlfriend of 2 months. Leo was in my backyard practicing some form of martial arts. Every day I think he trains to be an anime main protagonist. Kyle finished a book he started and now was watching a movie in the living room.
Since I promised Camille yesterday that I was going to do my work yesterday, I busied myself with it. In the middle of writing a sentence, my phone lights up and rings. At that moment, everyone looked in my direction. I knew who it was before looking at it.
I spent half an hour talking to her. She was true to her word when she said to expect a phone call today. Camille was just checking in with me, making sure I was doing the work. She hanged up so I can focus on my work and not her. She even called herself a distraction to me.
At the end of it all, she mentioned the date she wanted to go on. When the word 'date' was spoken, all the guys' ears perked up. After the call, they were giving me their not-needed opinion on what the date should look like. I turn them down though because they don't know Camille the way I do.
I'll plan the date myself. I will be the one to make her happy.
A/N: I hope you liked this chill chapter of Alonzo and the guys hanging out. Please, if you like the story vote and leave a comment. See you in the next one.
