Unfortunate Casualties
All eyes turned to Sean and Emilia as they walked into the Wallace offices.
They were quite intimidating to those who didn't know them, especially since they both looked like they could murder someone in their sleep.
Not that either of them has ever done such a thing.
They walked into the elevator together, looking forward as the glass doors closed.
"Are the sunglasses really necessary?" Sean asked, still staring straight ahead.
"I drank half a bottle of whiskey last night, you don't want to see my eyes." Emilia answered, letting out a breath.
"Of course, I want to see your eyes. Your pretty blue eyes." He said, the sides of his mouth lifting.
She shook her head. "These green eyes are rimmed red so you won't be seeing them today."
He emitted a long breath, facing her and taking off her sunglasses, ignoring her protests. "There. Now, I can see them."
He had always found her eyes beautiful, how they show every single emotion she was feeling and how they couldn't lie. She may be acting frigid and unfeeling but with one glance at her azure orbs, he could see her true emotion.
"I look awful, Sean. Give it back before I give your employees the scare of their lives." She said, holding out a hand for him to give back her sunglasses.
He refused, placing it in his pocket. "You look wonderful, Lia. Besides, you'll be scaring a lot more employees with your sunglasses on, you look like an alien."
"Rude." She huffed, facing back forward just in time for the doors to the elevator to slide open.
They walked side by side into the office, the employees recognizing Sean with a shock. They were about to look for Alex when they spotted him surrounded by other people, looking completely in his element.
The two decided to enter Finn's spacious office instead. Emilia closed the door behind them and took off her coat, folding it and placing it beside Sean's.
Together, they approached Finn's desk, seeing the photos littered on the tabletop. Pictures of Marian, Billy as a baby, a family photo. There was even a photo of little Emilia on Finn's lap, eating ice cream.
"He loved you, you know." Sean said, picking up the small wooden frame and handing it to her. "Broke his heart when you left."
Emilia bit her lip, looking down at the image and feeling an onslaught of emotions coming over her. "It's alright, had to tear out my own heart when I left too."
