Emilia sat on her bed, tying the laces of her boots.

Sean had driven them to the Wallace house, allowing them time to change into much comfier clothes, as he had told her that they were going to the airport later that day to confront Lale.

She was glad that he was finally letting her in after hiding things about the campsite from her. She knew that he still wasn't perfect in the aspect of divulging things to her but the point is, he is trying.

"Lia," Sean said, emerging from the hallway and leaning on her doorframe. He was holding some things in his hands, though she didn't know what those things were.

"I'm just about done, Sean. Just give me a second to tie my other boot." Emilia answered, crossing her legs to reach the other shoe.

After she had finished doing so, she stood up, about to go to him. Instead, he met her halfway, making her stop in her steps.

He pulled out a semi-automatic pistol, offering her the handle. "Here. You might need it."

"Sean, what-" Her eyes widened, looking at the handle in horror. "W-who will I even need to shoot?"

"It's only for precaution, Lia." He assured her, handing her the gun and gesturing for her to turn around.

She was about to ask him what he was doing when she felt his chest press against her back, making all words disappear from her. He raised her arms with his, his hands over hers as they aimed the gun at the empty wall.

"When you shoot," He instructed, keeping their hands together, holding the gun. "you'll need to load a round into the chamber by pulling back the slide and releasing it. Just keep your balance and watch out for the follow-through."

"I know how to shoot a gun, Sean. Have done it before." She said breathlessly, fully aware of how close their bodies were at that moment.

"Yeah?" He asked, his mouth directly at her ear. "How'd you learn?

She could hear his heart pounding in his chest despite his exterior calmness. She turned her head slightly to look him straight in the eye. "The need for it came up once or twice."

"Tonight, you won't need to shoot anyone." He said, his voice deep and husky, sending shivers down her spine. "I just need you to be okay."

"I will be. I promise." She said, putting some space between them, stepping away from his hold.

He stared at her with such mournful eyes that she had almost regretted doing so. Almost.

Sean neared her, taking the other item he had and wrapping it around her waist. A gun holster. "Lia, I'm going to be honest with you, alright?"
