THREE MONTHS LATER...
TITIG NA TITIG si Sabrina sa mahimbing na natutulog na sanggol mula sa transparent na salamin sa loob ng nursery hospital. She looks so calm and divine. She feels overwhelm just merely looking in the innocent child. Naramdaman niyang may yumakap sa likuran niya. Tipid na ngumiti siya nang makita si Kerkie na nakatitig din sa baby.
"How's Sam?"
"She's okay and tired, I guess." Pinatong nito ang baba sa balikat niya.
She nod. "Mahirap naman kasi talaga lalo na at first pregnancy niya."
Kerkie kissed her cheek. "I just can't imagine how you bring the twins out from your body."
She silently looked at the baby.
"I think I got her nose and lips." ani Kerkie, humigpit ang yakap nito sa kanya. Sa tingin rin naman niya.
Maybe it is his child so that's why she felt overwhelmed.
"She has Sam but I'll love her like how I love the kids." Bulong niya habang nakatitig sa bata. Alam niya na galing sa puso niya ang sinabi. It just saddened her because she can't feel that love right now.
Nilingon niya ito.
His smile reaches his eyes.
"She's Cheska Matilda..."
Isa ito sa minahal niya kay Kerkie, ang pagmamahal sa mga anak nito. It makes her heart burst with joy before but now she felt nothing.
"I'll be the good father for the kids and a good husband to you." Sinserong sabi nito.
Kumawala siya at tinignan ito.
She looked straight into his eyes. All she saw was love, affection, and respect. Bakit ba hindi pa siya pumayag sa kasal na inaalok nito pero paano niya gagawin iyon? Ni wala nga siyang maramdaman? Three months later, when Kerkie finds out about her miscarriage they talked and understand her. Ni hindi ito ginawa nang mga bagay na ikagagalit nila. He was just there and telling her everything gonna be alright. Kapag kakausapin siya tungkol sa kasal ay umiiwas siya. Hindi sa hindi niya mahal ito kundi dahil baka magbago pa ang isip nito. Ayaw niya itali si Kerkie sa isang bagay na baka may paga-alinlangan ito. She will be honest; when she lost the baby a part of her died.
She gives him time with Samantha and their baby. It hurts her to see how his eyes spark with so much tenderness, happiness, and love. Hindi na niya maiibigay iyon. After what happened to her, she wasn't sure if she can make him happy again. Mula nang malaman niya ang sitwasyon niya ay nagkaroon siya ng buong ideya. Matagal na niyang pinag-iisipin ang bagay na iyon. Now, there is no turning back. Pakakawalan na niya ito.
"I think you shouldn't marry me, Kerkie." It was the first time she said it without stuttering.
Nagsalubong ang mga kulay nito. "What are you talking about?"
Naisip niya na kinaya naman niyang siya lang kaya kakayanin niya kung bumalik ulit ito kay Samantha. She will do it not just for herself but to them... To the kids and to him. She will be fair.
"Binibigyan lang kita ng option. If you chose Samantha I'm sure you can be a father again. Babalik sa dati ang lahat tulad nang wala pa ko but this time you had the kids. You can be with them all the time." She tried to smile but it turns out distorted. "If you chose me, the twins and Kerra will all you can have but I don't know if I'll be the same Sabrina anymore."
Naging puno ng emosyon ang mga mata nito.
She took a deep breath. "Alam ko na nararamdaman mo rin. I'll be honest with you... Us. I felt nothing. Hindi ako ito at ayoko na ganito na lang tayo."
