Chapter 28: Lilim

Connor rushed toward Lilim and thrusted his spear forward, but she dodged the attack. Connor quickly turned around and swung his spear, but Lilim ducked and turned around, landing a punch to Connor's stomach that sent him flying into the castle walls.

I ran toward Lilim and jumped into the air, doing a downward slash with my sword. Lilim moved to the side to dodge the attack, but I lunged toward her, swinging my sword. Lilim grabbed my wrist and twisted it, making me drop my sword, and threw me aside.

Connor rushed toward Lilim and fired a barrage of energy blasts, but she reflected them all and flew into the air. Connor followed her and fired more energy blasts in her direction. Lilim dodged them all and fired an energy beam, but Connor flew through the attack and struck Lilim in the jaw with his knee.

He then fired his Phoenix Blast, pushing her to the ground. The attack created an explosion, and Connor landed on the ground, examining the smoke.

Lilim rushed out of the smoke and appeared behind Connor, catching him by surprise as she landed a kick to his ribs, sending him into a wall. She fired a barrage of energy blasts at Connor, creating a small explosion with every attack. She stopped firing and dodged an energy beam I fired.

She looked at me and smiled, appearing right in front of me, catching me by surprise.

"Aw, what's wrong? Am I too fast for you?"

I turned around and swung my sword, but she appeared behind me.

"I'll have you know that I'm at least 20 percent the speed of light, so there's nothing you can do to hit me."

Lilim landed a punch to my back and kicked me away. I got up and readied my sword, anticipating her attack. I saw her coming, and I summoned my shield, preparing to counter her attack, but she stopped six feet away from me.

I lowered my shield, confused on why she's not attacking, and fear filled my face as I looked down, seeing her hand near my stomach, charging an energy sphere.

She gave a sinister smile saying bye-bye as she fired an energy blast, sending me crashing through the castle wall.

I got up badly injured and noticed Connor came by to check on me.

"You alright?"

I tried to get up but started coughing.

"I just... need to rest for a bit. You fight Lilim for now."

Connor got up and cracked his knuckles, walking toward Lilim.

"You are going to face me? You were able to land a few hits on me despite the other one being a little stronger than you, yet he couldn't even land a single hit."

She chuckled.

"You should be more fun to play with."

Connor summoned his spear and got into a fighting stance.

"Let's have some fun then, shall we?"

He rushed toward her and swung his spear, creating a massive shockwave when Lilim dodged. Lilim did a backflip, kicking Connor in the jaw and sent him into the air. She flew toward him and landed a punch to his gut, knocking him down with a downward high leg axe kick.

She flew down toward him, preparing to throw a punch, but Connor fired a beam of energy from his mouth, making her dodge. He got up and flew toward her, stopping a few feet away from her. Lilim noticed he had a smirk on his face and asked why he's smirking.

"How much you're screwed."

Connor began to yell as the red flames around his body changed to orange, and he began letting off an immense heat, catching Lilim by surprise, but that surprise turned into shock. Connor smiled.
