Chapter 20: Round 1 final

Connor left the arena, heading back to where we are sitting.

"Up next, we have Princess Elysia, the dark mage of the Aramore Kingdom, with a power level of 300,000!"

Elysia teleported onto the arena.

"Her opponent is a bounty hunter from the Lullin Kingdom and is also a magic-user, Clayton! 

Who has a battle power of 120,000!"

Clayton walked out onto the arena.

"Let the match..."

They pulled out their spellbook.

"Begin!"

Elysia surrounded her hand in energy as she read her spellbook.

"Rage de la Lune!"

She fired a blue-colored blast at Clayton.

"Orbe d'Éruption!"

Clayton raised two fingers, making a large orb shoot up from the ground, destroying Elysia's attack.

"Explosion de Lumière!"

Elysia created a bright light that surrounded Clayton and stunned him when the attack exploded. While Clayton was stunned, she walked in front of Clayton and kicked him into a wall.
She surrounded Clayton with energy spheres and clenched her fist, making them rush toward him. Clayton surrounded himself in a barrier, negating the attack. 

The barrier dissipated, and Clayton covered his fists with energy. He ran up to Elysia and threw a punch, but she dodged it. Clayton threw more punches at Elysia as she blocked them with her arms, but he eventually broke her guard.

He slammed his foot down and threw a hard-hitting punch into Elysia's gut, sending her flying into a wall.

"Damn, that hurt."

She jumped out of the wall, rubbing the dust off her clothes. She charged energy into her finger, surrounding the arena in dark clouds.

"Roht fo rednuht eht htiw eeht etims i!"

She forced her finger down, causing lightning to strike down in random places. One of them struck Clayton, dealing massive damage. She put her spellbook away and drew both of her hands back, placing energy into them. She then brought them together, placing the bottom of her palms together, creating a sphere of energy.

"Light Flash!"

She fired a white beam of energy at Clayton, enveloping him with the attack. She moved her hands, stopping the blast.

"That should do it."

Clayton was on the ground unconscious, and Elysia used a healing spell as some people took him out of the arena. Elysia left the arena as the next combatants walked out. After Kio won the battle between her and Aka, Ruby walked out to face Kuki.

Ruby placed her hand on her shoulder, rotating it, before palming her fist.

"The second to last match of the first round involves Ruby! The youngest princess of Aramore, with a power level of 300,000! Her opponent is Kuki of the Lullin Kingdom, known as the Silent Kicker in the bounty hunter community and one of the elemental warriors from the Soshi Kingdom! She has a power level of 420,000!"

Kuki walked out on stage and bowed.

"A power level of 420,000? I better be careful. I can't afford to lose."

Kuki has a similar appearance to Ruby, but she has black hair and green eyes, no cowlick, and is slightly taller than her. Her outfit is a white tunic, brown boots, and gloves.

"Ready and begin!

Ruby started the match by firing a barrage of energy blasts at Kuki, but Kuki kicked them away as she advanced toward Ruby. Kuki surrounded her left foot in fire, jumping in the air, preparing to hit Ruby on the head.

Ruby did a backflip, dodging her attack and making Kuki hit the ground, creating a small hole from the impact.

"Barrage Strike!"

Ruby ran up in front of Kuki, throwing a barrage of punches. Kuki did a cross-arm block as Ruby's attack hit. Ruby stomped her foot on the ground and threw a mighty punch.

Ruby broke Kuki's guard and threw a flurry of punches. She did a crouching sidekick, knocking Kuki down and charged energy into her hands, firing a barrage of energy beams at Kuki.

"Barrage Blaster!"

The energy beams hit Kuki, causing an explosion. Kuki ran out of the smoke with her outfit badly damaged, surround her fist in electricity, and threw a punch.

She punched Ruby square in the abdomen and fired a blast, throwing Ruby into a wall. Ruby got up, took out her staff, and used a healing spell. Kuki ran toward her, jumped into the air, and tried to kick Ruby, but she blocked it with her staff and pushed her back.

Kuki created energy blades on each hand, running toward Ruby. Kuki lunged her left hand forward at Ruby's head but cut a piece of Ruby's hair as she moved her head to the side to dodge it.

"This attack!?"

Kuki did an upward slice with her right hand, nearly hitting Ruby as she moved her body back.

"The Technique of Assassins! She created blades of energy into her hands that can cut through people if they have a low enough defense. But the only people who can do it are...!" 

Ruby's eyes widened.

She jumped back, giving Kuki and her some distance. She fired an energy blast at Kuki, but Kuki cut through them with ease. Ruby's face turned into shock as she continued to fire. Kuki cut through all of them as she advanced toward Ruby.

When she got close enough, she removed the energy blade on her left hand and stabbed her right hand into it, creating an energy scythe, and hit Ruby with it, sending her into a wall.

"That scythe! It's like...?!"

Ruby's face turned into anger as her hair went from teal to cyan, and her eyes went from a light blue to an arctic blue. A Cyan aura surrounded her body as she appeared behind Kuki.

"So, it is you, Kuki Madoka!"

She threw a punch onto Kuki's face, sending her flying across the arena. Ruby ran by her, kicked her into the air, and gathered orange energy around her body.

"Go to hell!"

She fired an orange energy wave directly upwards, hitting Kuki with it. Her hair and eyes went back to their normal colors after the attack. She looked up at the smoke, watching Kuki's body fall and hit the ground. Ruby ran over to see if she was alright but stopped as Kuki got up. She looked at Ruby before falling to the ground, exhausted.

"The winner is Ruby!"

The crowd began to cheer as Ruby held out her hand to help Kuki up.

"Here, let me heal your wounds, Kuki.

Kuki looked at her, then her hand, and she turned into smoke. Ruby closed her eyes, walking out of the arena, and smiled.

"That was a fun battle, Sister."

After the last battle, it was time for the second round of the tournament.

The first match of the second round is Matt against Emi, followed by Yuki against Michi, then Me versus Arora, Dylan versus Ato, Heracles against Lucy, Leo against Connor, Elysia versus Kio, and Ruby against Isobe.
