Chapter 6: Victory party

The queen threw a victory party once we arrived after the battle. Apparently, the queen forgot to tell the public about our arrival, so she introduced us to the public before the party started. During the party, I noticed nobles and knights who are famous around the country, and even some Demi-Humans walking around. Yuki came to the table I was sitting at, asking if I would like to get a drink or some food.

"Guess there's no point in sitting here during the victory party."

She smiled as we went to get some food. When we headed back to the table, we noticed a nobleman sitting there. Yuki asked the nobleman to get off as I was there first.

"Why should I listen to some damn Demi-Human. Get your filthy hands away from me, monster, and get out of my sight as well!"

"Monster!? You are the monster for taking Sir Alex's spot. He was there first."

He looked over at me as I drank some of the juice I got. He smiled and looked back at Yuki.

"Listen here, you demi, I am Elys Hartdall, and my father supplies the Aramore army with their horses, Pegasi, and weapons. I am also the fiancé of Princess Selena."

I spat out my drink, coughing as Yuki went to get some napkins for me.

"Fiancé?!"

"Surprised hero? As I give them the things they need for battle, I sincerely asked the queen for Selena's hand in marriage, and if she didn't comply, I would stop giving their horses and whatnot."

Hartdall had slick blond hair and brown eyes, was 5'6, and a year older than me. I walked away, looking for Selena. I found her and asked about her marriage with Hartdall to see if it's true or not.

"So that bastard is here. Alex, what he said was all true, but no way am I marrying someone like him, but I have no choice as my mother approved of it with his father. I asked a friend to investigate him, and apparently, he makes women wear bunny outfits and tortures Demi-Humans, just to amuse himself. He's the worst."

"Can't you just tell him and the queen no?"

"I tried, but they didn't even listen."

I grabbed Selena by the hand, walking over to Hartdall.

"Oh, It's you again. What do you want?"

I was about to say something when Yuki came by trying to clean the spill on my clothes when I spat out my drink. I brushed her aside, looking at Hartdall with an angry face. I took off my glove and threw it in front of him.

"I challenge you to a duel for the right to marry Selena."

Yuki and Selena looked at me in surprise.

"M-ma-marriage, Sir Alex!?"

"Alex, what are you doing?"

He laughed maniacally.

"Very well, I accept your challenge! However, I have a few requests I would like to make."

"What kind of requests?"

"If I win, I will get to marry Selena right away, and I get to take that Demi-Human away from you."

"And if I win?"

"If you win, I will give you the right to marry Selena, but Aramore will no longer get their horses, pegasi, and weapons. Do we have a deal?"

"Yes."

I asked Selena to ask the queen if I can get permission for the duel. Hartdall got up from his chair and clapped his hands.

"Yes, Hartdall?"
