Chapter 7: The road to Vrenate

We gathered everything we needed and put them into the carriages. I noticed Ruby giving Connor a red fruit but didn't think much of it. Elysia came by to give us the potions, explaining how they work.

"When you drink this, it will turn you into a Demi-Human based on your favorite animal."

She handed a potion to each one of us.

"Drink it once you get close to the kingdom. It will last for 48 hours."

We thanked her and headed off to Vrenate. Raolet came by with some weapons for us and hopped onto the carriage. We came across a thick forest and decided to rest there for the night. I tried to sleep but couldn't, so I figured I would switch with whoever was keeping watch. I got up and looked to see Leo keeping watch.

"Leo, you can sleep now. I can't rest, so I'll take over for you."

"Alright, thanks."

I looked around and noticed Yuki and Raolet were gone. I heard a twig snap thinking it was them, but I felt something hit my arm. I got up to warn the others, but I fell to my legs, breathing heavily, and I noticed that my friends had a dart in their arms. I looked at the trees to see a figure standing there before others jumped down, taking Selena, Ruby, and Lucy into the darkness. I held my hand out and went unconscious. I woke up to someone shaking me, and when I opened my eyes, I saw Raolet shaking me. I got up, putting my hand on my head.

"What happened?"

Raolet took the dart out of my arm, examining it.

"Without a doubt, this is Hartdall's doing. I know the type of darts he uses."

"Isn't he in the castle's prison?"

"He must have escaped somehow. I don't know how he knew where we were, someone but has been spying on us. Luckily for you, I know where his castle is."

"Before we do that, where were you and Yuki?"

"I was gathering some herbs and fruit for food in the morning with Yuki, when we came, back you and the others were unconscious."

"I see. Well, take us to where he lives."

We all got on the carriage and rushed to get Selena, Ruby, and Lucy back from Hartdall. Once we arrived at his castle, we hid behind some rock, looking over. I began to think of a plan.

"Ok, so Me, Leo, and Raolet will knock out those guards over there, take their armor and sneak in to find Selena, Ruby and Lucy, while Yuki, Matt, and Connor keep a lookout."

Connor gave me a dissatisfied look as we headed out to knock out the guards. Once we did that, we took their armor and entered the castle. 

I told them to split up and look around, but Raolet said that's a bad idea since he knows where he would be keeping them. He took us to the main hall in the castle, and when we opened the door, the room was massive, and I noticed Hartdall sitting on a small throne chair in the center with a woman next to him, which upon close inspection was Selena wearing a Bunny outfit.

I began to walk closer and looked around the room. On the ceiling were round cages, where women wearing bunny outfits were dancing. I noticed that the cages could be brought down, somehow.

I climbed up some steps looking at the women, finding Ruby and Lucy in one of the cages. I called their names, making sure Hartdall didn't hear me. Once they looked over, I took off my helmet slightly, letting them know it was me. I asked Raolet if there was a way to bring the cages down, and luckily, he knew where the lever room was.

"Head over there and bring down all the cages. I'll see if I can get Selena away from Hartdall, Leo you come with me."

Raolet went to the lever room while Leo and I got closer to Hartdall and Selena. I overheard Selena talking to Hartdall. I put my hand in front of Leo and then told him to get down so we can listen to their conversation.
