*PLEASE BE WARNED THERE IS QUITE A BIT OF BAD LANGUAGE IN THIS CHAPTER*
As the ground connected with my feet again, they decided to give way. I hit the sand with a thud, winding myself slightly.
I lay where I was at and refused to move myself. I was quite content to stay here, close my eyes and forget anything happened today.
But, I gave up on that after hearing footsteps approach us, groaning I opened my eyes to be met by Loki's face a few inches away from mine. His raven hair was brushing against my skin and I noticed it smelled like lavender.
"Hi" I whispered, a smile involuntarily creeping onto my face at the sight of him. Investigating me, he smiled back before extending his arm to help me off the ground. When I got to my feet he pulled me into a hug.
"Hello Darling. That was quite the entrance you made there." he chuckled.
"Graceful as always, you know me!" I laughed nervously and pushed myself off his chest.
Tony hugged me next, "Hey Princess, heard you were on the Pegasus Express up there?" He raised an eyebrow at me.
"I was indeed Tin Man, seems your not the only bad bitch in the sky anymore!" I winked before heading back towards the house.
When we got inside I tried to distract the other two with an offer of tea so I could leave the room and speak to Loki.
Darling what's wrong? I can sense the anguish off you from the other room.
I need your help with something later. I...I need you to promise me you won't do anything silly though. It means taking the cuff off.
I promise. Now relax. You're making me uncomfortable.
Oh! I brought you some surprises by the way, I will give you them later.
Consider me intrigued Darling.
With that I made my way back up to the living room with some tea for everyone. I threw myself onto the sofa, right beside Loki, this time I didn't care to be awkward around him.
Especially not after the day I had.
I filled Tony and Loki in on what had happened leaving out the bit about the brothers and the mark appearing on my arm. With that I glanced at Loki and Thor, running my hand over my skin subconsciously, nothing more had happened but there was still a faint burning sensation on my skin.
Tony said I was to come to the compound first thing in the morning so he could run some tests. After making a quick dinner I poked my head into the living room to them.
"Okay guys, I'm shattered I'm heading upstairs to get a long hot bath and then I'm for bed. You know other realm drama and all that."
Tony gave me a hug and headed back out to base. Thor said he wanted to talk to his brother for a little while, I nodded and gave him a kiss on the cheek before I left.
As I turned to walk out of the room, I stopped and looked back at Loki. Who I caught looking at me quickly out the side of his eye smirking, almost challenging me to do it.
So I strode over and leant down and kissed his cheek before walking off calling back to him, "Goodnight Loki....oh and don't think I didn't notice you set the toaster on fire."~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One long hot bath later I walked back into my room in my towel, humming to myself. I had let everything sink in when I was lying in the bath.
I had cried. Knowing that my mother abandoned me because she blamed me for losing her home. I was only a child. How could I be the one to blame.
But after the tears came the anger...I had come out of the bath determined to prove her wrong, prove to her I was worth something. That she shouldn't have abandoned me. I just prayed Loki would behave when I took the cuff off him later.
