I waited until I could hear the rhythmical snores coming from Bucky's chest, before I slowly slipped out of his bed. I crept back to my room trying to stay undetected. Or this whole plan was out the window.
I made it, slipping quickly inside. Grabbing my hold all, I started packing a few things into it that I needed. I had to do this. For me. I couldn't think straight here, my emotions where all over the place. Loki was back, and I know he wouldn't back down until I heard him out.
But Bucky and I? He said it was a mistake and I understood that, but Jesus we had literally been making out earlier that day. I couldn't hide anywhere in the city, they would find me. There was only one place I knew I could go and return to my senses.
In all honesty I quite missed home. I was long overdue a visit. What better time than the present?
I looked at my phone 3.45am I knew I had time to get home to get some of my things and get to the airport before anyone would wake in the compound and notice me missing.
I grabbed a bit of paper from my notebook scribbling down a note so they wouldn't panic that I had been taken against my will.
'I'm sorry I'm running again. I'm stuck between I don't want to feel that kind of hurt again, but fuck I want to feel that kind of love. I need time to heal. To get my head straight. Please don't worry. I'm going off the grid. I will be safe, I will be home soon. Stay safe please, I love you all. xx'
I slipped the note below Nat's door before I hastily made my way down to the garage, jumping into my car and taking off into the night.
I stopped off at my house, going straight into my room and grabbing some essentials. As I was rearranging my bag I noticed I had lifted Loki's green shirt I had slept in since he left. I hugged it to my chest, burying my face into the collar of it briefly, before leaving it on my bed.
I didn't need that reminder right now.
Once I had everything I thought I needed I grabbed the keys to the Dodge Ram. Thor was the only one that had ever seen me in it, so my Mustang being at the house would throw them off my path for a little while. I hoped.

Soon I was seated in the plane, looking out the small window at the sky. The sun was just beginning to peak through the clouds, casting a warm glow over the early morning. Drops of dew glistened on grass at the sides of the runway, I double checked my phone. I had turned it off earlier throwing it into my handbag. They would be starting to wake back at the tower soon.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your Captain speaking. I want to thank you all for flying with us this morning, our estimated arrival time is 9.50am New York time, 10.50am Texas time. Now we are going to prepare for take off, if everyone could please secure your seatbelts."
I plugged my iPod into my ears and drifted off to sleep once we were in the air, just over 3 hours later the gentleman beside me kindly gave me a little pat on my shoulder to wake me, informing me we had landed.
As I stepped out of the plane the heat hit me, I forgot how good the weather was here. I smiled to myself. I was home.
Once out of the airport with my luggage I headed over to the car rental shop. I didn't want to turn my mobile on to ring Mum, so this was the easier option.
I paid cash so they wouldn't be able to trace my card transactions. I had also paid for my flight using cash when I got to the airport earlier in the morning, I was cutting them off my trail completely.
Once I had a new set of wheels for the next two weeks I made the long drive back to the first home I ever had in Denton, Texas 'The Riverside Ridge Ranch'.
