Aftermath...

Hey guys! Thanks for being patient with me! Sorry it's taken a while for the latest update! Been going through some personal stuff...FYI, breakups really suck! :'( but anyways the show must go on right?! Thank you so much for all the support for the story so far! I'm amazed at the response and I'm so glad you guys are enjoying it as much as I have enjoyed writing it! To make up for my absence have a double upload!

When we returned to the compound, we promptly went to find Tony. Jarvis informed us he was in his lab, as we entered he was slumped over his computer desk with his head in his hands. Fury was sitting on a chair looking out the window.

"Tony?" I touched his shoulder gently and his head whipped up.

"Oh! Princess! Good your back. Good job you two." He smiled at me, weakly, worry was clearly written all over his face. He sighed turning his attention back to the computer.

The room was tense, and I started to feel uncomfortable. Loki placed his hand over my shoulder from behind me, in an attempt to comfort me. Clearly sensing my anguish.

"I....I um. I'm going to get a shower and get out of these clothes. Should I come back down or...?" I mumbled to Tony.

"Not tonight Princess, we have a few things to discuss. We will regroup in the morning." Tony looked back at Fury who was now standing behind him.

"Thank you Agents, for going in there under the circumstances. We have gained some very valuable information tonight. You. Well, you have spared my life. So thank you again." Fury's face was one of pain and betrayal and I couldn't help but feel empathetic towards him.

"Glad we could help Sir." I nodded to him, as I turned Loki interlaced his hand into mine, running his thumb over my knuckles.

We headed back upstairs in silence and as expected he followed me into my room. I needed a shower, pronto. To wash off the feeling of Rumlow's hand on my skin, but also after the activities in the alley way.

I began getting undressed as I made my way to the bathroom, kicking the clothes to the side.

"May I join My Love?" Loki asked while unbuttoning his shirt.

"I wouldn't have expected otherwise, hurry up." I grabbed him by the wrist pulling him into the bathroom behind me.

Once we finally got out, we got dried and Loki conjured up clothes for us promptly, so we could make ourselves comfortable in my bed.

I looked around the room I had occupied for quite a while now, "I should really start going back home more. While people don't know I'm apart of all this it's safe. I might as well make the most of it while I can." I sighed.

"I do much prefer your house Darling, but you know when they do announce you as part of the team, I will be there with you to keep you safe. If you will have me? You can still live in your own home."

I lifted myself from his chest to look at him in shock, "And why would I not want you there exactly? Loki. You mean the world to me, there's no one I would rather have by my side."

"Not even that crush of yours?" He smirked.

"Oh you are infuriating Loki Laufeyson. Do you know that!" I threw my arms around his neck, giving him a quick kiss and shaking my head at him.

With a soft thud we fell onto Loki's bed back at my house, I was too mentally drained to argue with him. Instead I got below the quilt and cuddled into him. He lifted a book from the bedside unit, wrapping his arm around me, he got himself comfortable before planting a small kiss on my forehead. Then he began to read out loud. I sighed into him content. Things were good. Almost too good. Eventually I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer as his voice lulled me to sleep.
