When I See You Again...

I had been at home with Mum for almost two weeks now. Working constantly on the yard with the horses as well as helping with the cattle on the ranch everyday, there was always plenty to do when I was here.

This time however I was regretting not getting back to visit sooner. The ranch was still a working one, but Dad had always bred the finest quarter horses. Liam and Mum had been keeping his legacy alive and so far this week I had helped foal 10 mares. There was just one more left to go for this year.

The longer I was here, the more I had felt a weight lift off my shoulders, my worries eased. Then again I had been so busy I hadn't really had time to breath little own think about anything.

My muscles however, I couldn't ignore any longer. They were screaming out in pain. Killing me. Mum scolded me for working so hard, but the work kept me distracted so I took on every little job be it big or small.

After dinner I decided to run myself a bath, I eased my weary body into it, sinking deep down among the bubbles, letting the hot water cascade around me. I felt the heat radiate deep into my bones, I sighed leaning my head back and closing my eyes. Finally time to relax.

Darling, if you are listening. I'm sorry. I miss you more than you realise. If this is how you felt when I left, I can never make it up to you. I feel lost. Please. Please come back to me. I beg of you.

I shot up straight in the bath, water spilling over the sides, splashing onto the floor. Shit, I had let him in. I had been doing so well at making sure to keep him locked out. I rubbed my face with my hands. Had I fallen asleep and had a dream? Only one way to find out.

Loki?

Darling! Oh thank the Nine Realms. Are you ok? Where are you? Please. Please forgive me My Love, I beg of you. Please.

I'm fine Loki. Do not worry about me. I am safe. I will tell you about it when I see you again soon. Stay safe.

With that I closed my mind off again, sinking back down into the heat of the bath. I couldn't do it just yet. Honestly I was starting to wonder if I would ever be ready to face him anytime soon.

"Lovebug! Liam needs you quickly! The last mare is foalin!!!"

I sighed. There goes my bath. I scrambled out getting dried and dressed as quickly as I could before running out to help Liam in the stables.

"She can't have just dropped off the face of the earth Tony! I bet Nat taught her how to do this! We both know she's done it before." Bucky was pissed off. It had been almost two weeks now since she had left, no one knew where she had went, if she was ok. Nothing.

"Well Bucky I'm at a loose end here. Thats why we resorted to this to see if there's any clues about the house where she might be." Tony pointed around the living room, "She hasn't used any credit cards, her phones off, her car is in the yard! What do you want me to do Bucky? She's cut us off! Not to mention we have two problems; number one, Loki, who is gonna kill some of us soon if we don't at least find out where she is. Then we have the problem of; we can't kill him to stop him killing us. Or we would have the wrath of Princess upon us and I don't think any of us want that. You and I have both seen her mad! Now less of the pouting,  start looking!"

They spent the rest of the day, searching the house for clues, finding photos in frames. Trophies and rosettes around the house but nothing that was giving them any leads. Tony spotted Loki's green shirt on the bed when he quickly skimmed through her bedroom. He didn't want to completely invade her privacy digging through her room. But he knew he needed to have a quick peek.
