Happy belated best friend day, D. I love you, without end. You're the chocolate to my life, so you can guess how important. ;)

"Okay now you haven't just walked down the altar, this is not your first dance so I want chemistry but not that much."

Trevor raises his eyebrows, with a smile, standing directly in front of me, and I narrow my eyes at him with a playful, teasing grin.

Turns out the nap was literally all I needed. If only Brit hadn't banged on the door like she was on the run from aliens, I would've probably woken up to a new morning altogether.

But instead here I am, fresh as a daisy, attending my first dance rehearsal session for the pageant, with my reinstated friend.

"Boys, remember that this the lady's moment. This is a pageant, it's called the Heart of Her, so it's not about you... for this one time."

I chuckle, with a low laugh and Trevor purses his lips, probably trying to stop himself from protesting, because he knows Miss Bianca would not take it. Oh, she's so fire.

From my side I hear a scoff, and I turn to look at Lily beside me. She mouths an "oh damn!" with a click of his fingers and I bite back a laugh.

My eyes shift to the person she mouthed it to, who just frowns in response. I remember our conversation from earlier, and he looks at me suddenly with a distant, blank gaze. I avert my gaze instantly, fixing it on Trevor.

"Your job, is to make the lady look graceful, enjoy her presence, present her elegantly to the audience.

We have decided on the song Blind, by Hurts, it gives a good beat, it's a good feel. Now the choreography, is going to be a blend of tango and occasional waltz in between, essentially to celebrate the range of things a woman's heart is capable of feeling, handling and rocking."

I smile softly, with a subtle pride, Trevor mirroring ny expression as Miss Bianca strolls past us, her voice booming in the hall.

"So, the waltz section, I expect it to be soft, gentle, it has to be tender and beautiful; I want light, slow movements.

Then the tango portions, have to be powerful, steady, and I want brisk, strong movements, is that clear?"

Everyone nods. It's a beautiful song. I have always enjoyed Hurts, almost with a bittersweet contentment.

"We start on the second verse, we give time for the ladies to enter and align. Boys take a full walk around her-"

Trevor walks slowly and I remember how good of a dancer he is, by just his one simple gesture. He is graceful, and his walk is appreciative, adoring, appraising. I feel watched. I feel complimented.

"-now it shouldn't be you trudging, or Hardin- NO PACING MURDEROUSLY. It's slow, to the beat, classy, has to be admiring, better if you can maintain eye contact."
