"Hi, I would like to get this repaired." I place the frame on the glass table, and the guy on the other side, nods, putting on his glasses to inspect it.

The photo frame, of me and Hardin at the bonfire that Lily had gifted me last year had broken.

Lily had barged into my room, pulling open drawers frantically, and when I had asked her about it, she said that she hid a few condoms in my drawers because Julia, our housekeeper would give her weird looks after a cleaning.

She didn't care if I got those looks, rather.

During this very frenzy, she had fallen upon the photo, and a heated argument had ensued, where she would repeat that this was unhealthy, and I would repeat that I was aware of it. And in the lookout for a ceasefire, the frame had dropped.

The glass had cracked from both sides and the wood had shed quite a bit of splinters.

That, had been the ceasefire.

There was a large diabolical crack over our happy faces, and looking at it, I had gone so still that Lily apologized and gave me the address of the store she got it from.

"If you don't have an explanation for keeping it, you don't have to give one. Not to me. And I really didn't intend for it to break."

That was what she had said.

I actually didn't have an explanation, just that the photograph reminding me of the fact that Hardin and I could be happy together- if we wanted. And then the crack reminded me that we don't. We couldn't.

At least that was the helplessness I had seen on Hardin's face that day. And I had recognised it because I had felt the same before.

But ever since that day, it had been eating away at me that he's holding on to something, a grief, a pain, a nightmare- something. And it's getting heavier.

Suddenly, my mind flows to the television at the upper corner, as a few names make into my attention priority.

"-and there has been no further update from the legal authorities. It has also been revealed that Hardin Scott, has turned down the offer of a partnership, and the possibility of any further negations is running low.

It was on the Saturday of 16th October, four weeks ago when Charles Scott, the founder and CEO of Scott Capital Management Co. had publicly announced the transfer of a 49% ownership to his son, Hardin Scott, at the success party of the Renner merger.

There had been no official comment from Hardin Scott's side, up until later this week when we have been informed that the offer has been declined.

There is also talk that his legal team headed by Advocate Dennis Jeffrey has made a motion for a continuance, and it is suspected that there has been a new lead in his accusation of insurance felony associated with Carlisle Insurance Limited.

It is to be noted here that Hardin Scott is only twenty one at the moment, a sophomore at St. Stephen's University of Liverpool and is already at the brink of making history.

His case against his own parents, Charles and Patricia Scott, laced with much controversy has managed to stand two years in court, leading many to believe that there is indeed a fire behind the smoke.

It is believed that the final decision on the case is to be announced next year somewhere around February and should Hardin Scott win, we would be looking at the transfer of a 65 billion pounds worth of estate and the biggest business overtake of the decade.

"Do you?" The shopkeeper asks me loudly, and I turn to him, lost.

"I'm sorry, you were saying?" I ask him, shaking my head apologetically.
