Liliana
I watch standing, a few blocks away from the college building, and seeing Steve stroll down the road like nothing has ever happened cuts through my head like a maddening shear. I'm so consumed by pain, and anger, that I'm vaguely aware of Hardin walking up next to him, keeping a hand on his shoulder.
"Hey, Frost is it?"
Steve tenses immediately, and eyes Hardin anxiously, with a slow excited, impressed smile erupting on his features.
"Hardin. Yeah, Steven, I mean Steve Frost. You can call me Steve."
Bastard. His voice makes me want to murder him, right on spot. He flusters all over pathetically, fawning over Scott like a lost puppy, who looks at him blankly.
"Nice Steven. Say you're on the swimming team right?"
"Yeah."
An expression of curiosity and confusion washes over his face, as Hardin nods in feigned assessment of his reply, looking down.
"Right. Let's see how you swim out of this one, yes?"
"What-"
It happens too quickly, not even sparing me an extra second to even complete the gasp that leaves my mouth.
Hardin holds down both of his arms by the elbow twisting them behind his back, and Steve lays a shocked mess pressed helplessly to Hardin's front.
"Alright that's your cue."
Hardin's shout is what brings me to update with the current scenario, and seeing that bloody dog all vulnerable and weaponless, I march over to him in a vicious rage. Oh, I'm going to do something to him.
"What is happening, what are you-" Steve struggles uselessly clenched in Hardin's lock, who holds him down bored.
"Nothing to fret, sweetie."
Just as Hardin finishes his sentence, I reach them, and the first thing I do, is without thinking, land a full out knuckle-hard blinding hit to his jaw, and his face doubles down in shock of a reaction.
"You fucking bastard of a swine, I'm gonna paunch out your intestines and hang you down with it. You disgusting little rat, how dare you cheat on me bloody ashholic manwhore!" I spit out angrily, in sheer hatred and frustration, the picture of his face making me sick.
Why did I have to like him in the first place. And then, just on reflex, my brain gives me the answer.
Why I liked him. The time we spent together. The moments we created and shared and relished. I feel a tear inside me.
"-I liked you so much, I thought we were genuinely happy that you really-"
"Okay hey, maybe a little less talking more- physical damage-"
I knee him hard into the flesh of his stomach, and he grunts out in pain.
"-that's it there we go."
As he straightens up from the bent position, I slap him red across his face. Hardin's constant comments of approval give me a weird satisfaction, and the outlet of anger is liberating as hell.
Steve heaves with the after effects of my blows, which are probably not even that intense, but then again, this is for me. If I wanted him seriously hurt, I would've hired a professional- or better yet the guy holding his hands behind him.
Through his heavy breathing, he ultimately looks at me, realising all his ruse has come to a close. Slowly his face morphs into one reflecting the sadistic criminal anger and I shiver.
