I breathe deep and slow, my face pressed down to the huddle of sheets on the table before me, and a pitch blackness lies in front of my closed eyes. The only sound in my head is the careless chatter of the people in the cafeteria.

I feel a knock on my table, and look up to see Trevor taking the seat opposite to mine with a curious smile.

"You alive?" He asks and I sigh, looking down at all the papers again, trying to find my pen.

"Barely. Aargh, this pen is such a pain, where does it keep disappearing?!" I groan in annoyance and Trevor chuckles.

I look at him, and he leans in bringing his hand to the side of my head, and pulls something out from the top of my ear. He holds out the pen, with a smile.

"What's the matter, why do you have your control freak all over the place?" He folds his hands together, placing them on the table.

"I have two pending assignments, a play costume fitting to supervise, a pageant speech to prepare, an analysis report to hand in, a birthday to plan for which I don't even have a venue decided and I probably look like a hen because I didn't even sleep well last night." I rant out, breathless at the end of it.

"Why didn't you sleep well?" Trevor asks concerned.

"If I had, that list would hold a double of most items." I huff out, borderline cranky and he nods in understanding.

"It did come down at you all at once. But hey, it's nothing you haven't handled before. It'll all be done. And who's birthday?"

His face turns curious at the end and I smile thinking of the answer.

"Lily. Next Friday." I tell him happily, forgetting my work for a minute.

"Whoa, really?" He smiles with a surprise, and I nod my head excitedly. "So, what are we doing?"

"She'll be spending the night at her parents', so I won't have her for the midnight wish. They'll have a small personal thing.

But I really wanted to host a party, you know. Like Lily has been spending too much time, just at home by herself, and I feel like she should enjoy, have a blast. And she loves a party. There'd be music, dancing, food, drinks, everything. Maybe a rave?" I suggest, almost jumping off my seat.

Trevor eyes me with a soft smile throughout, and at the end of my talking, he drops his head shaking it.

"A rave is perfect." He looks up, nodding with a slap on the table with his hands.

"But I can't do it in our apartment, right. So I'm thinking of a place." I slouch back into my chair.

"Hold up, do it at my place. There's plenty of space, you can do it just like the way you wanted." He says with a spark in his eyes, and I smile at the idea.

"Etoíles? You'd be okay with that?"

"Of course. And, we also have a pool. It'll be perfect. We'll have the best birthday rave of the year." He speaks with such conviction and ease, like it's already done.
