It has been three days since Lily's birthday, and I'm almost still living in what I call the after-vibe. I finished my first half of the day, at the internship because I hand to give in the analysis reports, and then it had started raining so heavily, that Lily and I just decided to skip college for this one instance.

So here we were on our sofa, sitting on either ends. I was sipping my hot chocolate, thinking about the events of the party, and Lily was reading the book I had given her with her legs sprawled, her feet resting in my lap. I had thrown a sweater on, seeing as it was getting cold due to the rain.

I had gifted her the pair of white shoes she had been crushing on forever, and two books out of her TBR list, as is our tradition.

"I saw you talking to Josh yesterday. For a long time. Is something up?" I ask her lightly, with a curious smile.

"He's- nice, yeah." Lily shrugs, not taking her eyes off the book, and by the look on her face, I know she likes him.

"I thought you would have gone for Trevor." I smirk evilly, and she looks up in annoyance.

Isn't it just the best feeling in the world to irritate your best friend, and what better than to disturb a book reading.

"Trevor, has the hots for Brit." She clips and I burn my tongue with the chocolate due to the surprise.

"Really?" I ask her, shockingly.

"Of course you live under a rock. Didn't you see them dancing in the party? Oh wait, no you didn't, because you were too occupied with Soctt." She smiles sweetly, and I narrow my eyes at her.

"So were you. You two were the ultimate pool buddies." I try to deflect the topic off of me, and also because I didn't know much about Hardin and Lily.

"Are you jealous, sunshine? But hold on, which one of us are you jealous of, and if you say me, I'm going to spill out your intestines." She points a finger at me, and I chuckle.

I don't know when they became such good friends, and I guess, logically I should be feeling a sense of betrayal? But I don't. In fact what bothers me is that this friendship between doesn't bother me.
