The City of Darkness

VI: Mirrors!

Shard woke up in a room made entirely of mirrors. This time, he wasn't tied to anything. He was able to move of his own free will. That was already a bad sign to him.

He got off the ground and looked around. Everything but the floor was made of mirrors and any other reflective surface. Shard looked into one mirror, and saw Sky.

"Huh?" Said Shard. The reflection of Sky gave a bright smile. Shard smiled back, and reached his hand toward hers. When he touched the mirror, Sky screamed so loud that Shard had to cover his ears.

Another mirror showed Leah, and another showed Pierce. Some of them showed all three of them, or just two of them. They all screamed as if they were getting killed. It was so loud and so scary that Shard lied on the floor and curled up, holding his ears.

"AAAAAGGGHH!!!! STOP IT!!" Yelled Shard. Tears ran down his face as his entire body felt the agony that his ears felt. The mirrors kept screaming....and screaming.....and screaming, until Shard finally picked up a rock and threw it at all the mirrors.

Once he finally destroyed all the mirrors, he fell to his knees. He looked at the mirror that Sky was in, and started to cry. Then, a shadow formed from the mirrors that were supposed to be broken. Everyone that was in the mirrors came out of them and manifested into a physical form.

"Shardy..." said Leah. She picked up Shard, looked at him, and slammed him into a wall. She laughed while she did this, breaking one of Shard's arms.

"Heheh!" Pierce laughed as well. She grabbed Shard by the neck and punched him in the gut, causing him to collapse to his knees once more. This left an opening for Pierce to kick him across the room, sliding on impact in front of Sky's legs.

At this point, Shard was very, very scared of the girls. Sky looked at him, her hands behind her back. She didn't need to hit him so he could feel pain. She only needed three words. "I. Hate. You." Sky said. That hurt Shard the most. He clutched his heart. Any happiness he had left was now gone.

The mirror girls left, leaving Shard mentally and physically destroyed. Not only was he hurt by them, but he was sure that he couldn't trust anyone again. As he cried, he screamed out in agony, louder than before, and then passed out of exhaustion.
