The City of Darkness

XXIV: Commander!

"CHAAARGE!!!" Shard yelled. The seven ran towards the army at high speed, taking out forces at the jump. King and Leah sat atop a rock while Alice II, Pierce, Sky, Lxve, and Shard provided cover. Hopefully, Shard's plan would work.

Using his elemental power of wind, Shard blew back hordes of enemies into the walls of burned houses. The City was shrouded in evil, as if it was a City of Darkness. The group continued to fend them off, when the Ather Commander Alex jumped into the battle. He jumped at Pierce, his Therian self, and locked into combat. They seemed to have the same power and strength, as if their only difference was gender.

As the two went blow for blow, Shard flew Sky above the battlefield so she could blast enemies from above, with Lxve following her lead. She flew into the air and shot enemies from above with a flurry of arrows. They rained down on enemies, making small explosions upon ground impact. Only a few more minutes until the two were ready.

"Are you sure this will work?" Leah asked.

"Well, something of this caliber is hard to pull off, so i'm not sure. It could drain our strength completely, but at the cost of us winning the fight." King said.

"I guess then..let's keep going." The two charged up power and raised their hands into the sky, and a massive cloud formed over the kingdom. Everyone looked up as the wind suddenly got colder, and everyone could feel an immense power. Shard grabbed the four girls and hid in an empty house as dark lightning came down on everyone, powered by the hail and ice from Leah. The forces were instantly destroyed, leaving Alex the only one left on the battlefield.

Alex ran to the train tracks across from town, and King stopped him with a shot of lightning at his feet. The seven came together and pointed their weapons.

"It's over, Alex. Surrender, now." Shard said.

"Haha!!!" Alex said. "That's where you're wrong, idiot!" Alex pressed a button on his jacket, causing a massive explosion. When the dust cleared, the heroes heard a loud scream.

"HELP!!!" the voice said.

"HAHAHAHA!!!!" Alex said. He was standing atop a train that came from the train station. In one hand was a gun made of stone, and in the other was Sky.

"Put her down right now, you bastard!!!!" Shard yelled.

"I will do no such thing!" Alex yelled. "This will be the last time you see her, you Therian jerks! Don't move or I'll shoot her!"

Why is there constantly a gun pointed at me nowadays? Sky thought to herself. The rain pulled off at high speed, the whistle roaring and the steam surrounding the area. With a maniacal laugh from Alex, the train was gone, speeding down the tracks to who knows where.

"That bastard is gonna pay!" Pierce said.

"Let's get 'em!" Alice II said.

"Hold on!" King said. "Pierce, Leah, I need you to stay here and help me tend to the wounded. You three go after him."

"That does make sense, seeing that we're the only ones that can fly." Lxve looked at her half-sister and at Shard.

"You can fly too?" Lxve said to Alice II. She nodded and floated in the air. Lxve and Alice II were able to fly without wings, a very rare talent. "Okay. King, you know what I need."

"Indeed I do. Guards! Bring Monolode!" King yelled. His royal guards brought a machine gun to Lxve and strapped it on her, along with a massive horde of ammo.

"So you can shoot as well as you arch?" Shard said. Suddenly, a hair fell into his hand, steaming. He looked at Lxve.

"I'm a born shooter, big brother. Now let's get going!" The three flew down the railroad, now attempting to catch up to the train. Their mission: catch up to the train, defeat Alex, and rescue Sky before Alex has a chance to do anything. However, they don't realize that this battle's outcome is not decided by them or Alex, but by a girl watching them from above, with a smile on her fa
