Next day. Morning. In the kitchen.

Kim and I were sitting in the kitchen, eating breakfast with Colby.

Colby took a spoon of his cereals "Cata?"

I looked at him "Yes?"

Colby "why are you not giving me a brother? Do you not love me?"

My jaw hit the ground.

Kim's eyes widened "that's my call"

Then she walked out.

I walked over to him "Colby, baby, who brought that subject up?"

Colby "papa. He said that he would love for me to have a little brother or a sister but that you don't want that. Is it because of me?"

I sighed and drove a hand through his hair "of course not, Colby, it's just something between your papa and me"

He nodded "do I get a little brother?"

I shook my head "I am afraid not, buddy"

He looked down, sadly.

Me "but I would never say never"

His face lit up.

I kissed his forehead "now eat up. Your private teacher is gonna be here soon"

He nodded.

Outside. I walked over to Gomez who was in a meeting with two of his betas.

They already looked at me.

Me "can I talk to you, husband?"

Gomez nodded "Dismissed"

The two betas left.

I sat down across from him.

Gomez "what's wrong?"

Me "Colby just asked me if I don't love him "

Gomez asked confused "why?"

Me "because he thinks that that's the reason I am not giving him a little sibling"

Gomez chuckled.

I shook my head "it's not funny"

Gomez nodded "it is"

I nodded "for you, yes. I told you I don't want to have a child, at least not now. "

Gomez "I told-"

Me "And I told you that yesterday, 4 months ago and 9 months ago that I don't want one. And you are still on that"

Gomez "so you don't want a child? Or is it me you don't want one with?"

I looked at him.

Gomez scoffed "son of a bitch-"

I shook my head "you don't get to force me into anything. You wanna know why I don't want a child with you? Because that child would carry my gene – the gene that could turn others into hybrids"

Gomez shook his head "you don't know that"

Me "Well, I do not want to find that out"

Gomez raised an eyebrow "you think I would do that to my own child?"

Me "you wanted to turn Colby"

Gomez "to protect him ... because I love him. I would never do that to my own flesh and blood"
