Masked Ball

A few days later. At Gomez's office.

Me "so what's the occasion?"

Gomez asked confused "what do you mean?"

Me "Well, I heard we are throwing a masquerade ball? Why?"

Gomez shrugged, smirking "I felt like it and Colby wanted one"

I smiled confused.

Gomez "go get ready"

I nodded.

Night. At the ball.

Gomez and I walked down the stairs.

He whispered in my ear "you look beautiful tonight, my love"

I smiled "thank you. You don't look so bad either "

He chuckled.

Me "why are we throwing a ball again?"

Gomez "well, I chose a Masquerade ball because I thought it fitted your situation better"

I asked confused "my situation?"

He grabbed two campaign glasses from the server and handed me one.

I asked confused "what do you mean?"

Gomez "I adore the mask you put on in front of me to hide the fact that you are still shocked about your ex –mates return"

My stomach dropped but I took sip of my drink.

Gomez "I know he was here. And I know you two talked"

Me "he came looking for me"

Gomez "yet you drove to him"

Me "I told him to get lost. To leave California"

Gomez "what did you feel when you saw him?"
I scoffed, shaking my head "David, come on, don't do this-"

Gomez "you rejected Nicholas. Yet you went to see him"

Me "he was on our territory. He's still an alpha which means I have to respect him. I politely told him to get off my land because he has no right to be here"

Gomez nodded "did you kiss him?"

I shook my head "no. "

He scoffed, shaking his head.

I pulled him into a kiss.

Gomez put a hand on my lower back and pulled me against him.

Then I broke the kiss and looked into his eyes "no. I didn't kiss him"

He looked at me before he nodded.

Suddenly the alpha of the North Wall pack showed "David, old friend"

David chuckled and shook the alpha's hand "Richard, nice to see you. I am glad you could make it"

Richard "of course"

Then he looked at me.

David "my love, this is Richard Thorn. Richard this is.."

Richard grabbed my hand and kissed the back of his "Cataleya Del Rey"

David raised an eyebrow.

I smiled "nice to meet you"
