Love in the sun

I ran after her but she wouldn't stop and soon she got into the nearest cab she could get to. I felt stupid, she misunderstood what she saw. I tried calling her but it went straight into voice mail.

What the hell?

"Nate where's Uriel?" Olga asked

"She went home." I spat out and hung my head "That's weird, she always stays until the party is over."

She paused

"Did something happen?" I narrated what happened and she let out an oh with a smile on her face.

"She'll come around by tomorrow, trust me."

"I don't know Olga. I don't want her to think that I'm some kind of man whore. I like her. I really like her."

She had a victorious smile on her face, she knew all along.

"I noticed, you should know that she likes you too." I looked up to her expecting her to suddenly burst out laughing and say she was just kidding "I'm serious man. I'll talk to her for you, then I'll text you once I'm done."

"Thanks a lot Olga."
"She's my best friend Nate, I can tell she really likes you and the guys she's been with were total jerks. You on the other hand are different. I want her to be happy. If not I would have probably kicked you in the balls when you started talking minutes ago." I laughed

"I can't stay for the party anymore. I have to leave now."
"Thanks for coming."
"It was a nice one. My regards to Tony."

I couldn't sleep all night and my morning was horrible. I wanted to hear her voice and explain things to her, hold her in my arms and kiss her.

I didn't want a one night stand, hell no.

I was ready for a relationship, a commitment.

That's all I want with her. I looked at the wall clock; 2:35 and a text came in from Olga.

Olga: I've talked to her. It's your cue now.

I dialed Uriel's phone number and paced around impatiently. I was making the fourth call to her when she came around. "Uriel?"
"Yes Nathan." She quietly answered

"I'm sorry for what happened last night. I really am." I went straight to the point.

"Olga explained it to me. It's okay, it's not your fault. I should be the one apologizing since I didn't give you a chance to explain yourself... I'm so stupid." I felt at peace now. " You're not stupid...I want to meet up with you."

"I'm not sure Nathan." I wanted to tell her today "Please Uriel, I need to speak to you. It's urgent."
"Okay fine, where will we meet?"

"At the beach, can you be there in at least thirty minutes?"
"I could be there earlier. I'm close to it as we speak."

"Should I pick you up?"

Was I desperate?

"No, I'll meet you there."

I hung up and went for my car keys.

She was already sitting on the sand in shorts and a purple t-shirt. I ran over to her side "You're fast." She smiled, my heart was thumping loudly. "I'm also full of surprises."

She nodded and turned to the water body before us "I'm sorry Uriel. I didn't mean to, she just came along and before..." She placed a finger to my lips.

"Stop talking...I thought we talked about this over the phone. We're alright now."

Olga did a good job.

"It's okay then."

"Let's talk about something else." I shrugged "I read your book." She looked at me, eagerly waiting for me to continue "It was superb." She smiled and I was blown away, she had the most beautiful smile I've ever seen.

"Don't lie to me." She still wore a smile
"I'm not lying." Her smile grew wider
"I have to warn you though. I'm keeping the book with me. Can't give it back?"

"Don't just let anything happen to it."
"I can't let anything happen to whatever I get from you." I admired her and she turned to face me "What are your goals?"

"To be a successful heir to my family's hotel, get married and have kids in the nearest future. Be as best fit I can possibly be."

"You seem family oriented." She teased "I love family. I'm focused on work for now...tell me about your goals."

"To get my father's house back. It's my biggest goal. It'll mean a lot for me to move back there again with aunt and Ashley. I want to use my hard earned money to get it back."

"Any plans for a family?"

"Of course just like you said, find love, get married and have kids. I want a happy family and a complete one with a loving man by my side." She grinned at me

"Let's go for a swim." I removed my shirt and watched her take off her clothes leaving her in a red two piece "You planned that?"

"I figured that I'll go for a swim when you're gone."
"You were planning to send me away?" She nodded "Not going to happen." I threw her over my shoulder and ran for the water.

Uriel's POV

In no time, I was immersed in the water. I stayed in for a while and resurfaced for air. "You scream a lot." He gave a charming smile.

"You manhandled me." He was about to respond but I pushed him into the water, instead he swam  up quickly "Smart aren't you?"

"It's called payback." I splashed water on him and he did same "Your such a kid."

"Can't help it Nate." I went back in the water. After a couple of minutes we were close to each other and the sun was setting "How long have we been here?"

"I don't know but I'm having fun." I pushed my wet hair from my eyes and he came closer and put his hands on my waist

"Uriel."

He called my name with a husky voice and I almost stopped breathing "hmm." I stared back and gave him eye contact.

"I want to tell you something."
"Tell me."

He cast a spell on me and I put my hands on his broad shoulder still maintaining eye contact

"When I first said that we were friends. I lied." He stopped "I was completely smitten by you the first day I met you and I'm still smitten. I like you a lot and my feelings for you are growing each and every single day."

I love you

One step at a time Uriel

"You like me?"
"A lot Uriel. It's not about status or culture, it's about the heart. I want to start a relationship with you." He looked at me with so much affection that I lost it.

I closed the distance between us with my lips, he responded immediately and wrapped his arms tightly around me.

"I'll take that as a you-like-me-too."

He said in between kisses "Hold on." We stopped to catch our breath "Will you be my girlfriend?" My heart was skipping "I will Nate."

We continued our passionate kissing, I didn't want to stop but we'll die of lack of oxygen if we didn't. We ended in an embrace and he kissed my neck "I'm honoured to have you." He said in a hoarse voice.
