Chapter Forty-four
"Oh, my god! That's it?"
Kunot noo kong pinasadahan ng tingin ang shirt at jeans na suot ko. "Bakit? Anong mali dito?"
"Girl, mag-effort ka naman kahit slight lang." She frustratedly marched towards her closet. "Remember, sa HQ ka pupunta. Their freaking HQ!"
Shaking my head, I watch her dig something that'll suit me according to her taste. Hindi na ako nakipagtalo pa kasi for sure 'di niya ako titigilan kung hindi ako magpapalit. She can be real persistent when it comes to clothes and fashion.
Mula kasi nang malaman niyang ime-meet ko ang mga best friend slash bandmates ni JC ngayon nag-insist siya na mag-sleep over ako dito kagabi. Pumayag na lang din ako kasi chance na rin para maipakilala ko siya kay JC.
"Dress?" gulat kong tanong habang tinititigan ang hawak niya. "That's too much."
Kung dati underdressed ako kila tita Helen, ayoko namang sumobra ngayon. Bahay din naman ang pupuntahan namin at wala namang sinabi na party.
"FYI! This is casual. I wore dresses when I go to your apartment."
Hindi ko talaga kailanman naging type ang mga dress. Jeans are more comfortable. Minsan lang ako magsuot no'n at sapilitan pa katulad ngayon.
"Kahit na, nahihiya ako," nag-aalala kong sabi. I can't pull that off like her. Magmumukha lang akong ewan.
"Ikaw mahihiya? You didn't even feel that when you kissed him."
My eyes expanded at her sarcastic remark. How dare she brought that up!
"Iba naman 'yon. It was a spur of a moment," I defended, my cheeks heating up.
"Whatever. Put this on. 'Wag kang babalik hangga't hindi mo suot 'yan!" She pushed me out of the door before I can even protest.
Nagda-dalawang isip akong pumasok sa washroom at sinuot 'yon. Bahala na nga.
I straightened down the dress before looking at the mirror infront of me. OA pero totoong napanganga ako sa reflection ko. Miraculously, it looks good on me. Nagmukha akong tao.
The orange puff sleeve dress fits my body. Ang downside nga lang, masyadong maiksi. It's halfway beyond my thighs.
Tsk. Okay na nga 'yan, at least may suot.
A grin plastered on Jade's face as I entered her room once again.
"Hindi ako maghe-heels." Inunahan ko na siya. Lagi naman kasi 'yon ang ka-partner ng dress, 'di ba?
