niki woke up and looked at brooke who was still fast asleep. she smiled before getting off the bed and going to the kitchen to get water. "good morning niki." will greeted her with a smile.

"hey will." she said as she messed with her messy pink hair. "what was the staring about yesterday, if I may ask?" wilbur asked niki, very curious to why their was so much tension between her and brooke.

"what staring?" niki asked, not knowing what he was talking about. "you know, you and brooke at the dining table yesterday?" will explained.

niki finally realized what he was talking about and looked down at her nails. "you don't have to answer." wilbur assured before niki looked up. "the night on the ferris wheel, I think me and brooke almost, kissed." niki explained, whispering the last part.

wilbur's face was one of pure surprise but also excitement. "her apartment owner called about the fire before we could do it though." niki said, slight disappointment in her sweet voice.

"oh." will said simply. "so do you like her?" he asked niki before they both heard a door open. they quickly started doing their own thing; niki getting a glass of water and wilbur making breakfast.

"hey guys." brooke said before rubbing her eyes, still trying to fully wake up. "what are you up to?" she continued to ask as she sat at the dining table, a slight smile on her face. "i'm just making pancakes." will responded, making brooke jump in excitement.

"dude I love pancakes! do we have maple syrup?" brooke asked, her once tired voice changed into one of full excitement. well that sure woke her up.

"well duh!" will said with a laugh as he flipped one of the pancakes. brooked suddenly gasped as she thought of something. "today was supposed to be my meeting with clay to make my character for lore." she explained with a worried expression on her face.

"it's okay, you can always use my setup!" niki offered brooke, making her shake her head slightly. "but you have to stream, I can't just take your setup." brooke said before she got an idea.

"I can get a job! like at a coffee shop or, the book store!" she stated as she quickly got up to leave. "i'm going to ask for a job at the shop, save some pancakes for me?" she asked slightly, making wilbur nod before she left the apartment and rushed to the bookstore.

when she arrived, she ran into the store, stopping at the front desk. "hey, do you think I could work here?" brooke asked, making the lady raise her brows. "i'm sorry miss but you'll have to be interviewed before we can hire you." she explained.

"okay, when can I be interviewed?" brooke asked, making the lady sigh slightly. "I guess I could give you a small interview." she said as she walked around the desk, picking up a paper.

she sat on a chair, patting the chair next to her slightly. brooke got the hint and sat beside her. she asked brooke about 20 questions, brooke answering all of them, making the lady nod.

"you're hired." she said, making brooke jump excitedly. "thank you! thank you so much!" she said as she pulled the lady into a hug abruptly.

the lady smiled awkwardly and nodded. "you can work at the front desk." she started as she wrote something on a piece of paper. "here's your schedule, you can use this until you get an official one. you start on monday." she continued with a smile.

brooke grabbed the paper, thanking her another dozen times and running out of the building, immediately driving to niki and will's apartment.

"I got it! I got it!" brooke yelled excitedly as she ran into the apartment, still holding the schedule. "the lady at the desk gave me the job!"

"are they even allowed to do that?" will asked with a laugh. "I don't think so but I still got the job!" brooke exclaimed once again. "well good job!" will said, niki doing the same.

"don't you still have that meeting with clay?" niki asked, making brooke's face drop. "shit, I almost forgot!"

brooke grabbed her phone and called dream on discord. "hey! i'm sorry if i'm late, I had to get a job for a new setup." brooke explained, quite abruptly, before dream could even say a word.

"it's okay, I heard about the fire. we don't have to do your lore until you're ready." clay offered politely. "no, it's fine! niki offered for me to use hers so we still can." brooke assured clay.

"okay, so let's start with your characters backstory." clay started as they began talking about brooke's lore.
