Ming was surprised to see his office occupied by none other than Forth and Blake. The Klutech COO was sitting on his chair while the KluCorp and VMC CEO was browsing through the books on his bookcase.
"Oh Ming, we were waiting for you" Forth said as he closed the book he was currently looking at.
"Why is my office being invaded? Am I being sacked Phi?" Ming asked.
Blake chuckled and stood up. "Relax Ming. Nothing like that will happen" he said as he tapped the other man's shoulder.
"It's not that I don't want you both here but this is way too early. What are you two doing here?" Ming asked with curiousity etched on his face.
"We could ask you the same Nong. I didn't give you this post to be this stressed out. Then I suddenly heard my Chief Engineer is working his ass off in menial things like checking and tinkering on equipment. You have men for that Mingkwan" Forth sternly said.
Ming gulped and he could feel himself starting to sweat. From what he remembered of his Phi back in College, one should never cross this man's path if they know what's good for themselves. "Ahm, sorry na P'Forth. I just wanted everything to be working flawlessly" he said as he looked down on his shoes.
"Oi Boss, cut him some slack. He's done an absolutely terrific work on this hospital's system" Blake said.
"Yeah, that's why he is going on a well-deserved vacation for two weeks. Hear that Ming?" Forth declared.
"Why am I being sent on vacation? Did I do something wrong Phi? I promise I'll work on having it fixed" Ming begged.
Forth clicked his tongue. "You haven't done anything wrong Ming. To be honest, what Blake said earlier is true that's why I'm sending you on vacation, to take a break"
"But Phi ---"
"No buts Ming or else you'll be on vacation permanently" Forth said with finality.
"Okay Phi" Ming couldn't do anything but agree.
"Now, let's have coffee and leave Blake here to look after things" Forth said as he turned towards the door.
"But what about his other responsibilities Phi? I don't want to burden him with my tasks" Ming attempted to sway his Boss' decision.
"It won't be a burden to him if he could always check on the new Hospital Coordinator" Forth said with a smirk.
Ming remembered Bren being the new Hospital Coordinator as per Beam's demand so he could concentrate more on his patients and his own kids. He knew he couldn't resist anymore or he loses his job. With a heavy heart, he followed Forth out of his office.
Forth led Ming to the coffee shop across the hospital. Phana and Kit told him about the younger man's evasive actions lately. It bothered him since he cares for Ming too and sees him as a younger brother.
"What's up with you and Pha?" Forth asked bluntly.
Ming was surprised. His Boss is almost never at the hospital. "I-I'm not sure what you're asking about Phi. Pha and I are okay"
Forth arched an eyebrow. "Yeah right Ming. Pull the other one. You know I'm not nice like the rest of our friends but I care for you more than Phana. So tell me if he hurts you and I'll gladly beat the shit out of him"
"No need for that Phi. Really, everything is fine between us" Ming tried to convince Forth as he looked at him pleadingly.
Forth scoffed. "If you don't want to talk it out with me, talk with Pha. You might not notice it but I think this has an impact on Param. The kids are the ones bearing the brunt if their parents are not in good terms. One way or another, it affects them"
Ming felt guilty and looked at his cup of coffee. "I will Phi"
They were quiet for sometime before Forth changed the topic. They went on discussing the hilarious things they did back in college until the older man noticed people approaching their table.
"Oh, here they are" Forth said as he looked behind Ming, towards the cafe entrance.
Ming looked behind him and saw his husband, his brother-in-law and his Boss' husband walking towards their table. He got up and gave Phana a greeting kiss while Forth did the same to Beam.
Phana sat beside Ming while Beam sat beside Forth across them which leaves Kit sitting on the other side of Ming. A waiter approached their table and took down the orders of the newly arrived men.
"Did you wait too long?" Beam asked.
"No babe. We didn't actually notice" Forth answered with a smile.
Phana draped his arm on the backrest of Ming's chair and let his hand casually play with his husband's hair. "This is nice. It has been quite sometime that we've went out like this" he commented.
"That's because you and Ming are both workaholic. There are other places aside from the hospital" Kit said.
Phana scoffed. "Yeah yeah. Good thing Forth approved our leaves and now I'm taking my husband somewhere far from here all for myself. Don't try to bother us unless it's something very important or lifechanging for Param"
Kit rolled his eyes. "Whatever you big giraffe. When did we ever neglect our lovely nephew?"
Beam laughed at them while Forth just leaned comfortably on his chair. It was refreshing to see the Crazy Docs being crazy again in teasing each other.
"Oh and Ming, that husband of yours is full of pride. He wouldn't take Forth's offer of paying for your vacation. He says he would use his own savings to spoil you so you better make sure he empties it all on you. And don't forget our souvenirs" Beam informed Ming.
Ming blushed on hearing this. "Oh Phi, even I would refuse P'Forth's offer. The leave approval is already enough for us and of course, we won't forget your souvenirs wherever Pha plans on taking me"
"You two better sort out your issues and starting now, it is mandatory for the two of you to at least have a week of vacation every four months or you better find another place to work with" Forth threatened them teasingly but they all know he wasn't kidding.
