103 | ...while in pain

The Kiragun siblings were stumped with Beam's statement. Even Bjorn and Lem were speechless. Beam has that calm demeanour as he clasped his hands on crosslegged knee while Forth's back was turned on them.

"As Forth has said, do you think we're that stupid to not know why Jay got into an altercation, not once but thrice? With the third one landing him in the hospital. For us not to dig deeper why our oldest son suddenly stopped talking to his brother?" Beam asked in a steely tone.

Annie was so shocked with the information.

Pree was trembling in fear.

Rich couldn't help but bite his bottom lip guiltily.

Lem remained silent and kept his head down.

Bjorn avoided looking at his Papa and chose to stand by the shelf and lean there.

"Is Preeda even aware of how closely tangled our families are?" Beam directed the question to Annie.

Pree looked at her older sister, full of confusion. Annie could only shake her head in denial. Pree was still a baby when everything happened and they let her remain clueless about their father and older brothers. She only knows vague details and she wasn't that interested.

"How long have you known Lem?" Beam asked.

Lem could only sigh in relief that Beam still calls him Lem instead of Chalerm, or worse as Dr. Darawan. "I've known since Annie became my patient Phi"

Forth sighed loudly and rubbed his temple.

Beam took a sip of his tea and looked at the siblings intently. He was gauging if they were being honest and what their intentions are. While doing so, he couldn't help but scowl.

He can't help but fear for his son's sticky situation and at the same time burn in anger for the boy who did this to him. He wants to lash out on anyone who has something to do with it. His emotions were suffocating him and he's trying to hold them in.

"Is Bren aware?" Forth asked calmly.

Lem kept his head down and clenched his hands on his knees. "No Phi. I didn't tell him since he was pretty honest in saying he's...you know what he thinks about it" he faltered on the last bit as he knows the siblings will definitely get hurt once they hear what their oldest brother has to say.

"You should tell him Lem" Beam said softly. "He's too excited for you to have a partner since Sora and Luc started dating"

Lem gave him a weak smile. "I don't know how to Phi. Like Beej, I'm scared to reopen healed wounds"

Pree kept on looking back and forth between Rich and Annie and would sometimes give curious looks to the couple and Lem. Bjorn avoided looking at her at all. He kept mum beside the shelf and just listened.

"Were you ever planning to tell us Beej?" Beam whispered.

"I was hoping I didn't have to. I didn't consider Jay's nonchalant outlook in life to lead to this. I guess what he was just thinking about was about his childhood bully and maybe, just maybe, he's starting to grow his circle of friends" Bjorn mumbled.

Forth looked at their eldest who was sporting a blank face. "What really happened? Tell us. We deserve to know while your brother is fighting for his life"

"It's because of me" Rich spoke up. He knew Bjorn had been avoiding giving out too much details since last night. "We had an adoptive brother who was too hung up on me. He was Jay's childhood bully and I met them first in Krabi. I wasn't expecting to meet them again and fall for Jay"

Beam snickered. "Really? Do you think I'll easily believe you?" He roared. "My son is currently unconscious because of that boy! My parents got divorced because of your mother and I had to endure ten years away from Forth because of your father! Now tell me?"

Beam was so angry that he started to tremble. Lem approached and engulfed him in a hug. "Phi, please. Your too worked up. I know your worried about Jay but it wouldn't do good to let your anger out like this. You might think I'm siding with them but I'm not. Please calm down"

Beam held on to Lem's arm and tried to calm himself down. Forth approached them and rubbed his husband's back in a soothing manner. "They're just kids Beam. Whatever their parents did, they are not to be blamed"

"I told him to stay away but he didn't. I told him to come clean and let Jay decide but I don't think he ever did" Bjorn stated.

Rich, kneeled in front of them once more and begged. "Please, give me a chance. I'll do everything I can to care for him and be totally honest with him. I told Aran to stay away and that I don't feel anything for him. I didn't expect for him to hurt Jay like this"

Pree was just silent and listening to what is being said. "If Mom was the reason behind Uncle Beam's parents' divorce, then that means to say the doctor earlier is our brother?" She murmured as she caught on.

Annie meekly kept her head down and fumbled on the hem of her shirt. "Yes, Dr. Bren is our Phi and so is Dr. Lem"

Pree stared with widened eyes at Lem.

Lem gave her a weak smile.

"How much do you know Pricha?" Beam asked, voice fulk of venom.

Rich gulped and looked down, still kneeling in front of Beam. "I knew we had two older brothers and was so keen on meeting them. I wanted to know what it feels.like to have an older brother and not be the only son in the family. I was so tired of being looked upon and having a nuisance younger adopted brother.

I admit at first, I was happy to be acquainted with Jay since he would lead me to meet your brother. All I know is that he is a Vongviphan...but then I started enjoying Jay's company and day by day I fell for him. I'm sorry for all the trouble but I can't stay away from him. I love him too much to do that"

Beam pulled away from Lem and walked towards Forth's desk. He took out a decanter of whiskey and poured himself a glass. "I am not the one to decide whethe my son should accept you or not. If it was up to me, I wouldn't want you in my son's life...ever" he stated.

Before anyone could speak, Bren knocked on the door before entering. He was shocked to see everyone paling and to see Rich kneeling again. "Ahm, Jay's awake and is asking for you Phis, you too Beej and Lem" he said and left the room.

Once he was out of earshot. "Be thankful he woke up or you'll never see the end of this. I'll make your whole family pay" Beam said in a voice full of loath. "If you know what's good for you, stay away from my son Rich" was all he said before he left.

A/N: It's hard to channel anger and pain when you woke up all bright and bubbly 🤯🤯🤯 I might write a continuation from this scene or leave it as it is...who knows
