Beam was beyond mad. He was in rage. Straight from the operating room, he hurriedly checked on the papers before storming into the Director's office where he knew Forth, Tul and Bren would be.
The occupants in the room where very much surprised to see the fuming doctor. It was Forth who stood first and approached him. Beam was immediately hugged by his worried husband and allowed him to calm him down.
"Hey, what happened?" Forth asked in a hushed tone.
He, Tul and Bren were discussing about the agenda for the next Board Meeting when Beam barged in. Forth knew his husband was performing a surgery and they planned to go home together afterwards.
Beam has never acted like this before. He has kept his calm facade even when he was being pushed around by the Senior Residents. Forth would very much like to find out what made him this mad.
"Were you aware of the newly accepted interns here at the hospital?" Beam asked them after calming down in his husband's embrace.
He was still in his scrubs and there were small traces of blood on his clothes. Beam is very careful during operations as he hates having stains and he most likely wants everything executed neatly and properly.
Tul pondered for a moment. "Yeah, I think I've seen the list. Why? Did something happen?"
Beam pinched the bridge of his nose, a sign that he is trying to reign in his temper. "Two of those interns assisted me in the operation earlier and it was nearly botched up" he roared the last bit.
The three of them knew how important his profession is to Beam. He is very much dedicated in saving lives and he is well-known for his success rate. He will do everything he can and will never give up in finding ways to alleviate his patient's pain without leading to death.
"Hey Phi, calm down. Let's talk about this so we would know what actions to take" Bren coaxed his brother to sit with them.
"Can you tell us what happened?" Tul asked as he dialled his assistant's number to ask for refreshments to be brought in.
Beam sat down on the couch so Forth could join him. Tul and Bren sat across them on separate chairs.
"Before the operation, I talked to them like how I normally do with others...about the procedure and all. I asked them if they had experience and they said yes only for them to almost kill my patient! It was a good thing Lem was there too or else I could've lost him" Beam roared while clenching his fist.
Bren gulped. Lem being there was really a blessing or else Beam might've butchered those interns. "What exactly did they do Phi?"
"They almost cut an incorrect nerve which might've caused the patient to be in a vegetative state for the rest of his life" Beam hissed. "I thought we are only accepting students with great distinction and full marks? Why are those imbeciles here? They will bring our hospital down and cause tragic instead of saving lives" he is in rage just recalling what might've happened to his patient.
