Get your tissues ready, this will be a sad one.

Without him, my life became monotone. The beatific things of life became altered, shifting into a meaningless void.
I held no passion, and even the liveliest of things could bring me to smile.

Not even his presence could undo the damage. His last items, still untouched as it was, held no life. They were motionless, just as any other object in our cramped apartment.

Life no longer held any significance.

The once upbeat moments I had, dissipated into thin air as if it never happened. More than ever, I needed him. Perhaps, my worries would crease away like a bad dream.

But of course it wouldn't.

He's been dead for a week now.

"(y/n) have you been eating lately? You look... different"

"I know."

I weakly lifted my head and forced a wobbly smile onto my lips.

It only lasted for a second or so until it gave out.

Yuu sighed and gently reached for my limp hand, squeezing it.
I felt nothing.

"If you'd like, I'll prepare a meal for you."

I said nothing.

Yuu awkwardly shifted his eyes elsewhere, clearing his throat.

"Alright then..."

He let go of my hand and stood up, traveling towards the kitchen. He unknowingly searched throughout, only to come out empty-handed.
I was not surprised.

I haven't gone outside, let alone leave the house for some groceries.

It had always been Mika's job to go to the store, though occasionally I would do it every so often.
But he was dead, and I was left to handle every responsibility.

"So uh, (y/n)...." Yuu began.

I grimaced. "Yes, I know."

Yuu chuckled slightly and smiled reassuringly at me.

"No worries! I'll get the groceries for you!"

He quickly grabbed his belongings and after my approval, flew out the door.

"Be right back!" He called.

The apartment was once more solitary without Yuu's voice or presence to fill the silence.

It would only be for a moment, though it was agonizing to be alone at times.
Time was stagnant and I could hardly bear it. Yuu understood this feeling and oftentimes visited me throughout the day.

He was very resiurceful, and coped through the pain.
Yuu and I were close friends though lately things have become distant.
He only talked when things were becoming intolerably awkward between us. If Mika were here, perhaps everything would have been the same and everything would be less tense.
Mika was special and now that he was gone.... life just wasn't the same.
