Steve's POV

Nat and I just came out of the meeting with the new Secretary of State Viola Kennan to finally get rid of the Sokovia Accords. After the Snap one year ago and after half of every living creature disappeared, they totally lost their meaning. Ross, the last Secretary of State got blipped and the government didn't really believe in them anymore. I didn't know if they believed in them at all. Furthermore the Avengers or what was left of us weren't their priority after everything that happened.

After the blip the whole country... No. Every country was pure chaos. The governments and current heads of every country tried to work together and all around the world the wars stopped. The world just needed to lose half of their population to stop fighting for once. But I just waited for the next fight. Not because I wanted it but because I couldn't believe that the peace would last.

I thought about what Ultron once said to me, that I couldn't live without a war. He was half true because Captain America couldn't live without a war. Captain America needed the war to exist. But I wasn't just Captain America. I was a normal guy from Brooklyn who never ran from a fight but didn't want to fight at all anymore. I was tired of fighting.

Nat and I were the only Avengers left in New York who were able to go to Washington. Rhodey was already there because he was a Colonel of the US Air force beforehe even joined the Avengers and now he is needed back there. So he was part of the meeting but not as an official Avenger anymore. But he signed the Sokovia Accords once so Secretary of State Kennan wanted him to be there. That he regretted signing them in the first place was also a reason because she wanted to see and talk to him.

Rhodey moved completely to Washington a few months ago and was our direct contact with the government and military. Natasha was still living in the compound, while I moved out into a small flat in Brooklyn. Tony retired finally and he and Pepper moved into a cabin not far away from the compound in Upstate New York. Thor was in New Asgard as far as we knew. Bruce was working most of the time and he and Dr. Cho were currently experimenting on something. Clint just left without a trace and we didn't see or hear him in nearly a year.

'What did you think about the new Secretary?' Nat was curious about my opinion about the succession of Ross.

'Kennan is intelligent and strong minded. She always had second thoughts about the Accords so I wasn't surprised that she wanted to get rid of them. She seems more capable than Ross'

'That's not a big surprise. This guy was a ... ' Nat stopped for a moment 'I will not say what he was, because I know you don't like that kind of talk.' She grinned and I started to chuckle.

We were on our way back to the jet, when I heard someone calling a name.

'BARTON!'

We turned our heads towards the voice in the assumption to see Clint but all I saw was a woman with dark brown hair who was leaving a conference room at the other end of the hallway where we had the meeting to sign the annulment of the Accords. She was turning back towards the voice and I could see her face. She was beautiful even though she looked a little bit tired. I felt Nat stiffening next to me before she made her way to the woman. It seemed like she knew her so I followed Nat. I was curious who she was.

Rylee's POV

After a successful but exhausting mission in Germany, an eight hour flight and an unnecessary meeting which lasted for hours I could finally go home to get into a shower. My long hair was in a messy ponytail and my makeup was not existent anymore. This after-mission-meeting was just a waste of time because we already talked about everything on the flight. I just wanted to go back to my apartment in Southwest Washington and get some sleep. But this needed to wait.
