Chapter 34

Steve's POV

The next few days we tried to get the whole team together. Banner and Rocket went to New Asgard in Norway to talk to Thor. Nebula and Rhodey stayed at the compound for the last few days and Nat flew to Japan to get Clint. She asked Rylee to join her but she said she wasn't allowed to leave the country because of the FBI investigations. I assumed she also wanted to face Clint as late as possible but we were only able to find himbecause of her. One of the cartels from her cases was the one in Tokyo.

'So you met Nebula and Rocket so far. Are you excited for Thor?' I was sitting on the bed with Rylee in my arms. We were ready to go downstairs but I wanted to enjoy some alone time with her because with everybody in the compound so far, we already had problems spending some time with just the two of us.

'Meeting a real god? Of course I'm excited. I saw pictures of him.' She was turning her head to look me in the eyes. 'I mean, he's tall, he has blond hair, blue eyes and all these muscles. You realize I have a type and I think Thor could be some competition for you.' I started to tickle her because she loved it too much to tease me. She giggled and tried to get out of my grip. I stopped tickling her and she turned around to sit in front of me and looked me in the eyes.

'He'll definitely be competition for you when he still has his beard.' Before I could grab her again she was already running out of the room. I heard her laugh and followed up. I caught her at the bottom of the stairs and threw her over my shoulder.

'Steve! Let me down!' She was still laughing and I wanted to do nothing more than carry her back into our room and make her forget about any possible competition. I was very close to smack her ass when I saw Nebula looking at us from the other side of the hallway. She was pretty intimidating. I put Rylee down and she turned around to look at what stopped me.

'Hey, Blue Meanie. What takes you so long?' We heard Tony calling Nebula and she turned around and walked over to the library. Our little moment was over and Rylee joined Scott and Rhodey in the kitchen while I informed Okoye and Queen Ramonda. They wouldn't be part of the whole time traveling but I felt like they needed to know what we wanted to do.

A couple hours before everybody arrived Rylee got another call from the FBI. She should come to Quantico right now. She knew that would happen, because of what happened in Tokyo. It was even worse than Mexico. She took Nat's bike because it was faster than mine and also faster than our cars.

I got a little nervous because I didn't know what would happen there. She told me that she had a plan but she didn't fill me in on the details. The only thing I was sure of was that she would come home without her badge. I would hold myself back when Nat and Clint arrived so I wouldn't punch him in the face.

Rylee's POV

I got pretty nervous the closer I came to Quantico. I was a little confused that they didn't want to see me at the headquarter but to be honest I felt better being at the FBI Academy in Quantico. That was my home for twenty weeks when I started my career at the FBI. It was six years later and it would end at the same place.

I parked Nat's bike near the entrance and looked around. It was a tough time getting trained here. I looked over to the sports field and saw a few people running. For a short moment I asked myself what it would look like here when Steve and all the others could really bring everyone back. I gripped the motorbike helmet harder and walked inside.

Adam was waiting for me and I expected him to be here. He called me shortly after the FBI that he had some information I needed to know. He gave me a thin file and I couldn't really believe what I just saw.

'How long do you have those?' I stared at the file in my hand, not able to look away. I told Steve that I had a plan but my plan based just on the fact that Adam had a file which I didn't know the content of. I would never tell him that though.
