Rylee's POV
Fuck. This didn't go as planned. I hid in a squatting position behind a corner while I heard people screaming through the comms. I couldn't make out half of it because some were screaming in Russian, others in English and I assumed one was speaking French. I spoke all three languages but when they were talking at the same time it was like the rushing sound of a radio. A nerve wrecking rushing.
Why the hell was one guy speaking French? Did he pray? I rolled my eyes. He was really praying. I would love to tell him to shut the hell up but I was still in hiding and that wasn't worth dying. I assumed that this was one of the guys who came straight from the academy and just learned where the right end of a gun was. This guy was my backup. If this wasn't my life on the line I would find this hilarious.
I got my focus back on the two guys at the other side of the room who were searching for me. They weren't my friends. They were some of the weapon dealers who we were trying to take down for nearly six weeks now. And they were pretty angry that we were successful. When you can call it successful there were gunshots everywhere and I just fought against another guy and took a few punches.
I was sent undercover to Moscow because I was one of the agents who could speak Russian without an accent. Thanks to Nat. I could also fight and was a good marksman. Not just good. I was one of the best at the academy. But the mission which should only last two weeks got more complicated when we realized that an FBI agent named Hank Walker who we assumed got blipped was second-in-command of the group we wanted to take down.
This was the reason I was sent in alone because we assumed that he didn't know me. I was way younger than most of the other agents and never met Walker. I was observing and trying to find a way into the organization. I found out that they wanted to ship the weapons tonight because they got a tip that they were being watched.
Little did we know that one of our guys gave them the tip and that was the reason I was sitting here. They were prepared for us. It was a trap. I fucked up. But how could I know that we had a traitor in our own ranks. This snake was also the reason why the whole mission lasted so long because he put spokes in our wheels. He was also one of my contact persons. He just gave me half the needed information and made a big fucking mess out of this whole operation.
I risked a quick glance around the corner. The two guys shouldn't even be here. They shouldn't even be in that building. I looked at the sniper rifle in my hand and thought about the job I had to do. I should take out every threat for our group from this building. It should be empty but the little rat obviously told them where to find me.
My rifle was made for longer distance shots and not for this short distance of a few meters. But I wouldn't have the time to get my glock out of my thigh holster. I also didn't have the time to calibrate my rifle but at this short distance it wouldn't make any difference. It would just make a huge mess.
I still heard some gunshots and people screaming in my ears but I totally blend out the disturbing noises. At least the french praying stopped. I needed to calm down. I raised the rifle, looked through the scope and aimed at the guy at the window without making a sound. I shot him and before the other guy realized what just happened I shot him too. I was fast and I was good.
I needed a moment before I stood up and walked over to the dead guy at the window. There wasn't much of his head left to make an identification later. I looked over to the other guy and there was even more blood. It spread all over the white wall like a Jackson Pollock painting. I just killed two guys but I didn'thave time to feel bad. My team still needed me so I repressed my guilty conscience.
I just wanted to report over the comms when I heard somebody behind me. It was the second-in-command FBI asshole Walker. Before I could grab my rifle he stopped me by pointing his gun at me.
