"Hey Travvy Patty"

"I told you to stop calling me that. What do you want?", Travis sighed, walking into the bedroom.

"You got a letter~~", Sal sprawled himself over the bed.

"From who?", Travis stood at the entryway, taking off his coat.

"A Miss Melissa Phelps", Sal grabbed the letter off his night stand and started to wave it in the air.

"Ugh, a letter from her.... Just throw it away", Travis sighed, hanging his coat on the back of the bedroom door, and starting to take his belt off.

"What if it's important!", Sal said, rolling himself over and onto his stomach.

"If it was that important she should have texted me", Travis shook his head, and just through his belt on the floor.

"That's what I said!", Sal jolted himself up. "But who even is she? You never talked about her before."

"Remember that weird girl that was around my age?"

"Abby?"

"No~ The one my dad got with?"

".... She was your age?"

"Yup."

"Like now right? Like when you were seventeen she was like in her twenties?"

"I wish... She's only like a year and a half older than me."

"Are you serious? That's gross as fuck"

"Yup. Well, my dad married her.... And her name was Melissa."

"Why would she write you a letter though?"

"I don't know? Read it if you want, I'm not interested in the letter. I'm going to go with Todd to get groceries if that alright with you",

"Yup yup! Can you get me animal crackers?!" Sal asked excitingly.

"Yeah sure", Travis said opening the door, "With the frosting?"

"Yup!"

"Okay, I'll be back in a few", Travis smiled and left.

Sal sat there for a few moments, just staring at the envelope.

I shouldn't open it

He said I could though?

That doesn't mean I should...

Sal thumbled with the flap of the envelope, staring at it.

It's a letter? It's not that big of a deal.

Sal finally opened up the envelope, two folded papers falling out, one reading, "read me first!"

Sal shrugged, grabbing the paper and unfolding it.

Dear Travis,

I'm sorry to keep bothering you but this is extremely important. I even forgot I had this. Your dad kept it locked away. I don't even know why he kept the thing in th first place but it's important for you to see this. I wish you had gotten to this before your father did. Maybe then things could have been different.

~ Sincerely your dear Melissa

Weird?

Sal set the paper down and grabbed the other one, unfolding it and looking down at the words scrawled up against it in shaky handwriting that was hard to make out.
