By 21:00 you were passed out cold. Hisoka had covered you with the blanket and switched off the light.

Returning back to the couch, Hisoka sat there, yellow eyes glowing in the dark, watching you. The way the moonlight shone on you reminded him of his first time with you. Laying you down on the table with the moonlight rays stretching across your body. Showcasing yourself as a goddess. However, now was different. The moon rays made you look angelic.

Rays focusing on you as if God was pointing at one of his favourite creations tonight. That's how surreal it all appeared.

Before Hisoka could continue to admire his long lost highschool sweetheart, he heard the door unlock and slowly open ajar.

With the light seeping through from the passage, he saw it was Maleeka. Stopping by the bed, "Mumm- Y/n." A tired but uneasy Maleeka called you.

"Y/n.." She whispered one more time before lightly tapping your hand.

Fluttering your eyes open, "W-what's wrong?" Words dragged out of tiredness. You could of sworn there was acid and broken glass dancing across your eyes by how much it burnt when you tried to open them.

"Can I sleep with you tonight?" She timidly asked, clearly needing comfort.

Trying to blink away the blur from your eyes, "M-me? Don't you want to sleep with your father?" You questioned, feeling odd that Maleeka came to you. Earlier, Hisoka did mention she was attached more to you than him, but you never realized to what extent she was. Definitely not expecting this.

"My daddy doesn't sleep at this time 'coz he works. And I don't know where he is. " She replied, oblivious to Hisoka sitting in the far dark corner of the room.

Like a guilt bullet being shot to his heart, Hisoka felt truly terrible hearing that. Especially because in a few minutes he has to leave to meet up with people. Maleeka was right.

Being at the top comes with a lot of responsibility, but it should also come with a lot of free time. Free time he refuses to have. For seven years he had to fill the free empty hours in his life. Hence he became a hands on boss.

But he couldn't be like that anymore. What's the point of having you and Maleeka back if he is never at home. Missing out on moments. Not being able to be present for his daughter that needed comfort during the night.

He truly is unfit to be a father.

Noticing Maleeka was crabby, uneased and somewhat afraid, you let out a light sigh before lifting up the blanket. Pushing your thoughts, questions and doubts about this entirely aside. She was merely still a child that clearly sought your comfort.

"Come." You murmured in a sleepy manner. Scooting a bit back to make place for her tiny body.

The way Maleeka wrapped her arms around your lower torso and buried her face against your chest, directly below your chin with her plush Teddy bear indicated that tonight isn't the first time you have let Maleeka sleep with you. She knew what spot would be comfortable for her and took it.

Hesitant, your hand lingered in the air above her head. You needed to know what goes on with this family. Was there something going on? Hisoka hasn't mentioned really Maleeka's mother at all. Does she have one? Is she dead? Is she the woman Hisoka told you he loves? Why isn't she here?

Sighing, you halted your thoughts. It was too painful to think whilst tired. Maybe you were overthinking everything. Everything could be as Hisoka told you. You and him are just best friends that were extremely comfortable with each other, based off the things he mentioned earlier. Eating together. Relaxing together. Resting together. Everything was done together.
