CHAPTER 8

8.

"ANNIE," She said. I looked up at her. "You are my ANNIE." I nodded and she hugged me.

"Ah ANNIE... I missed you so much... I thought you-... My dear..." She said kissing on my head and caressing my hair. I can say she was about to cry.

"I knew it before. You are my ANNIE..."

"Why didn't you say to me before? And how did all this happen? Where were you? How did you come back? Why did you? What did they do to you? How have you been all these years?"

She asked me lots of questions and I know she still cares and worries for me. I just smiled and hugged her. She stopped talking and hugged me back.

"I missed you too MADY. I will say everything to you." I wiped my tears and broke the hug. "But promise me, it should be between you and me only," I asked her.

"I promise you, ANNIE." She held my hands and patted. "Now, tell me everything. Why did you come back? What happens after you left the mansion?" She asked me.

"After the incident that happened to me on my birthday, they planned to keep me away from the mansion. I was unconscious for few days. When I woke up, I was in a different place." I shook my head and lowered down, looking at our hands.

"After few days, I came to realize that I was living the life of a slave. The place was like a mansion and I have to work daily as a maid. All the works like from cleaning the garden, the mansion, cooking everything. Not only me but there were also many girls and some boys as well. We were not allowed to go out or anywhere unless they call us."

All those days were coming to my mind. Though I try to forget it never leave me alone.

"I have lived there for around 8 years. Nobody was there to take care of us. There was a girl. We both were roommates. She took care of me as you did before, helped me all the time. She was like a family to me. She was my life. But-..."

I stopped talking and looked away from her. I wiped my tears and took a deep breath.

"But the world is too cruel for both of us. She is gone. She left me alone in this world." I lowered my head down as tears weren't stopping. Whether I close my eyes or not, I can see her smiley face in front of me.

"She was there for me whenever I felt alone and weak. She was like my family, my sister, my best friend everything who helped, took care of me, and comforted me. She was my whole world."

She was the only one with whom I was comfortable. Because of her, I came to know the real me and where I was from. I shook my head and controlled myself.

"After her death, I was brought to this place again." I looked at her. "At first, when I saw you, I was happy and at the same time sad. You didn't recognize me. So, I didn't say who I am and stayed silent." She was holding my hands. She was trying to comfort me. "Then, I stayed around you as a different person with a different name." She wiped my tears.

"Why did you change your name?" She asked me curiously.

"I don't want anyone to know about me and my real name. Except for those people, EMI, and you, nobody knows about my real name and my past. So, please don't say to anyone about my real name." I squeezed her hands. "I don't want anyone to get hurt because of me."

"Okay, I won't tell anyone, ANNIE. What are you going to do now?" She asked me. "You are back here, and everyone is around you. Beside them, DAIN even tried to kill you. It is not safe for you to stay here. You have to leave this place."

"I don't know MADY. I haven't thought about all those things. But promise me, you will not do any stupid things just to save me." I said to her and held her both hands. She tapped on my hands and nodded.
