CHAPTER 25

25.

"Hello, baby girl."

I heard the voice and at that time, I felt like someone standing behind me. The blindfold was removed and I closed my eyes when the light caught my eyes. I blinked for some time and tried to balance my eyesight.

After a moment, I slowly open my eyes and observed around me. I was standing in the middle of the empty hall. I searched around the place and then realized it was like an abandoned factory. Some random things are usually used in some factories.

What the hell? Where am I? Where is this place?

"Hello, baby girl. How are you?"

I heard the same voice.

The voice that destroyed my life.

The voice that hides the secrets of everyone. The secrets hide the dark side of the people that they are not aware of.

The voice that I wished to never hear in my life. But here it goes.

The voice echoed in the empty hall. I searched around the hall and nobody was there.

"You don't have to search me. I am on my way to you."

Then, suddenly the lights went off. I tried to look around and it was dark. I closed my eyes in fear and then felt like somebody is here in the hall as well. I am not alone.

"Hello, ANNIE."

I shot opened my eyes and still the lights were off. All at once, the lights were on and I was startled. I shook my head and stepped back but my foot caught a shoe. I stumbled and lose my balance and directly fall to the ground.

"Be careful, ANNIE."

He took steps toward me and sat down on the floor. I looked at his face. He was smiling and trying to touch me.

"Aha... no... no... no... If you dare, you are calling your death. Step away from her."

I looked at him as he stood up and took a step away from me.

"Wait for me, ANNIE." He mumbled and smirked glaring at me.

"Stand up, Baby girl."

When I checked around, I saw his men standing more like surrounding me. I was scared and my heart was beating fast.

I can't show in front of him. I have to be strong and deal with it myself. I can't let anyone control me. I have to confront him.

"What do you want now?" I said searching him around but he was nowhere to be seen. "And, what the hell is Mr. MACDUFF doing here?"

"You know what I want." I turned to him and saw him glaring at me. He tried to touch me.

"Don't you dare, MACDUFF?" I stepped away from him. "I know you are just following his order."

"WOW... My baby girl... I love this... I have never seen your aura like this before. How did this happen? It's like magic you know. I thought I would give you a surprise but instead, you surprised me with your aura."

"Come to the point." I clenched my fist. "You knew everything since they brought me NEW YORK. Why didn't you take me right away? What were you waiting for?" I asked him.

"Because somebody wanted you to enjoy your life for some time."

"What do you mean?"

I narrowed my eyes and looked upstairs as the voice was coming from there. I saw someone sitting in the chair. There were no lights but still, it was visible that he was there looking at me and talking to me.
