CHAPTER 23

23.

**ANTONIO POV**

"Guys, I got the calls from them. They said there is something wrong in the café." I said looking at them.

"What do you mean?" MICHALE asked me in confusion.

"AYAN called me this morning and said that there is a black car. The car is always parked just opposite the café. They find it a bit suspicious."

"The car might be of some workers or people living around that area," STEVEN said in a calm tone.

"I know that can be the reason as well but they said it was there since the incident that happened in the café. They even said that they always look at the café and mostly... ANNIE."

"What? You mean they are watching on her." STEVEN said and I nodded at him.

"AYAN said that he had seen NICK talking to some of those people."

"NICK? Who is this guy?"

"He is one of the co-workers in the café."

"Why would he talk with those people?" MICHALE raised his eyebrow. "There is something fishy."

"Nobody knows except them. He even said that NICK doesn't care about other co-workers but takes especial care of ANNIE."

"Like?"

"Like, he always watches her whenever she talks with some people. He helps her with the works and he would observe her every movement in the cafe. Besides that, when it comes to ANNIE, he would do anything."

"Why do I feel he likes her?" STEVEN asked in confusion.

"I don't know. It can be as well."

"So, what's your plan? When are you going to confront her?" MICHALE asked me.

"Today and now." I stood up from the chair and grabbed my coat. "And you guys are coming with me."

"Why will we join you?" STEVEN winked at me. "We don't want to be the third wheel."

"You both are coming with me to look around the café. Coz, AYAN said that there are more people working in the café who are watching over ANNIE."

"What do you mean?" MICHALE stood up from the chair in shock. "Don't tell me..."

"Yes, there are more people than we expected. AYAN even said that he saw some of his men as well. So, we should hurry." 

After that, we left my office.

"Hey, what happened to her? Why did she run away? And what are you doing here?" JASON stood in front of me and asked me.

But my eyes were locked towards the cabin. I was still shocked and confused at the same time.

What happens to her? Why did she run away from me? That was not expected. I was still in my thought. A few moments ago, she was happy and in a second, she was scared and hurt. 

What's going in her mind? There is something wrong.

"Hey..."

Suddenly, I snapped out of my thoughts as JASON tapped on my arms. I shook my head and looked at him.

"Oh... Hey, JASON..."

"What happened?"

"Ahh... nothing..." I said still looking towards the cabin.

I can't tell him about her right now. First of all, I have to clear out the things with her. It is still not crystal clear.

"BTW, I came with my friends to have some coffee." I lied and smiled at him.
