10.

"Mr. CARLTON, we want to know about her? Do you know who is she? Where did she came from or anything about her family or relatives?" The head of the cops asked me.

We were in my office discussing that incident.

"She is one of my friends. Don't worry I will take care of her. From now on, she will be my responsibility." I said to him.

I looked at him and I can say he was hesitating to agree with me.

"Whether you want to believe me or not, that's on you. All I want to do is save her and protect her. So, for that, I need your co-operation as well." I said directly. "If you need some documents related to her health condition and all, you can contact JAMES."

"Okay, then for her safety, we will co-operate with you. If you need any help, please inform me." I nodded at him.

After that, the cops left the room. I sat down on my chair and continued working on my laptop. I was totally focused on it and didn't realize when JAMES came inside the room.

"Yes, what happened?" I asked him. "Did you find anything?"

"I have checked everything in that mansion. Right now, it is still locked and nobody is allowed to enter without any permission. There is nothing strange inside the mansion. Everything is normal."

"But I found that there was a separate room for the girl who is admitted in the hospital and for the lady who was with her."

"What?" I narrowed my eyes. "Only for both of them?" He nodded.

What can be the reason behind it? I mean only for them. There is something else that we are not aware of.

"What about that lady? Did you find something?"

"And about the lady, her name is MADY HARPER. She was one of the oldest maids in that mansion. She has 2 children who are living in New York. Her husband was dead in a car accident. So, her children are living with their uncle."

"So, she was living all alone in their mansion?" I said and he nodded at me.

"For other maids, they used to share the 1-2 rooms, and here is something that we found in her room." He handed me a box. "About her condition, there is some improvement in her health but she is still in a coma." I nodded at him and then he left the room.

It's been 2 months since that incident. She is still in a coma. Most of her wound is being healed but she is not waking up. At some point, she used to have some difficulties and changes in her health. Now, she is doing fine and I am taking care of everything for her.

Whenever I get time, I visit her and stay with her. As days go on, I am used to looking at her. I don't know but I feel at ease whenever I am near her.

I grabbed the box and opened it. There weren't many things but one thing caught my eyes, a diary.

Diary? Whose diary is this? I thought to myself and was about to open the diary but my phone rang. I ignored it and tried looking at the diary. All of a sudden, the door opened revealing JAMES. His expression was different.

"Sir, she is not in her room."

"What?" I stood up from the chair. "What do you mean she is not in her room?" I narrowed my eyes and kept the box aside.

"They checked everywhere in the hospital but she is nowhere to be found."

"To the hospital NOW," I said to him. I grabbed my phone and coat. We headed straight toward the car.
